Klansman Wanted To Target Gov. Cuomo With Death Ray
The Doc’s favorite “news of the weird” story of the week gets even weirder:
The self-proclaimed Ku Klux Klansman who was building a mobile death ray machine to kill Muslims also had a government target — Gov. Cuomo.
A federal criminal complaint filed this week in Albany charged that Glen Crawford was planning to use a radiation-emitting device to attack a Muslim organization, a political party and “a political figure.”
Sources with knowledge of the situation told the Daily News Thursday that the unnamed political figure was Cuomo.
It’s unclear why he might have been a target.
Actually, it’s pretty “Occam’s Razor” clear in the next paragraph:
As U.S. housing secretary under President Bill Clinton, Cuomo brought multiple cases against the Klan related to housing and other types of discrimination, but there’s no information on whether Crawford was aware of them.
Reps for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI’s Albany office would not comment on the identity of the targeted political figure.
