Republican Leader To Obama: ‘I Can’t Even Stand To Look At You’
A “leader” teaching our children how to show respect for someone with whom you disagree, and for the Office of the President of the United States.
This past Sunday, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) argued on his Facebook page that Republican lawmakers had such personal animosity toward President Barack Obama as to render negotiation impossible, citing one anonymous leading House member who flew off the handle at Obama during recent negotiations.
“Many Republicans searching for something to say in defense of the disastrous shutdown strategy will say President Obama just doesn’t try hard enough to communicate with Republicans,” Durbin wrote. “But in a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you.’ What are the chances of an honest conversation with someone who has just said something so disrespectful?”
