Florida Woman Fatally Shoots Daughter Thinking It Was Her Boyfriend
Adele Bing shot Ruby Bing by mistake while she was holding her baby. The elder bing thought she was shooting her boyfriend who she believed had come to kill her.
Bing, 52, of Winter Haven, has been charged with second-degree murder and child abuse without great bodily harm in the slaying of her daughter, 25-year-old Ruby Bing.
According to investigators, it all started with a domestic dispute that broke out between Bing and her boyfriend, 39-year-old James Lane, Monday afternoon.
Police said the 52-year-old pistol-whipped her paramour in the head during the fight, sending him to a hospital.
Before Lane left the house to get treatment for his injuries, he allegedly warned his girlfriend that he will come back later to kill her, the station WTSP reported.
When someone knocked on the front door of her home in the 480 block of 18th Street SE just before 9pm last night, police said Adele Bing armed herself with a baseball bat and gun, fearing it was her boyfriend returning to make good on his earlier threat.
According to a police affidavit, as Adele Bing was opening the door, she accidentally discharged her .22 caliber pistol, only to discover that it was her 25-year-old daughter knocking and kicking on the other side.
