Three Years In Prison For Stealing A Sandwich
He didn’t pay for a Subway sandwich and he’ll be in the clink for three years.
Antonio Singleton, 20, walked into a Waco, Texas Subway sandwich shop at 8:30 p.m. on April 20 and ordered a sandwich, KWTX reported. He then handed the employee some change, but would not pay the full amount for his sub.
A scuffle ensued when the employee followed him out of the store. The employee received minor injuries. Officers caught Singleton in a nearby Target parking lot and arrested him for robbery.
At his trial Monday Judge Ralph Strother sentenced Singleton to three years in prison after a plea bargain, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald. Singleton, now 21, pleaded guilty to robbery, burglary of a habitation and criminal mischief.
He has already been in jail for 240 days, so is eligible for parole, his lawyer Sam Martinez told the news source.
