My Debate With Tucker Carlson On The GOP’s War On Women
The Republican Party is in denial about it’s attitude on women. As I cited on Fox News Wednesday, more than 40% of women are forced to take unpaid leave from their jobs when they get pregnant and 25% are forced out of the workplace. Carlson and other Republicans act like it’s their choice not to come back. And there is no national law on sick leave, which affects women who often have to take off work to care for ailing children. It’s especially tough on single moms. And the right embarrasses itself with comments like Allen West’s that Democrats talk about women only from the waist down, or Erik Erikson calling Wendy Davis “abortion Barbie” and that she “is so cute when she’s lying.”
Attitudes like these are not going to help the Republican Party improve its image with women. Even Carlson runs away from the GOP when I make this point.
