Teacher Refuses Request To Watch Olympics, Student Calls Her A ‘Communist’, Gets Detention
Apparently, in one student’s mind, not being allowed to take up school time to watch the Olympics means your teacher is a communist. The Walpole, RI teacher’s note on the issue referred to it as “inappropriate speech.”
Apparently the disgruntled student was so upset his request was rejected that he called his teacher a communist three times. In the note, the teacher described the name-calling as “inappropriate speech.”
