The laws in Canada are different, and Peter LaBarbera doesn’t have the same freedom there to preach hate.

…the 51-year-old hate monger has been arrested on the University of Regina campus for trespassing and ignoring the country’s law against “hate propaganda.”

LaBarbera tweeted earlier this week that Canadian Customs searched his laptop and phone to gather evidence against him — he was rightfully believed to have been entering Canada on a mission to spread hate propaganda, which includes any number of the antigay messages he’s been known to spread.

On Monday afternoon, LaBarbera and fellow “activist” Bill Whatcott were asked several times by local police to leave the University of Regina campus and, at 12:30pm, were taken into custody after ignoring the orders. Both men were said to have distributed “graphic” anti-abortion pamphlets while on campus.

Both men have been released and are scheduled to appear in court on May 26.
