Congressman Says He Was Battered By Wife Who Was Married To Someone Else; Wants Annulment
Florida Congressman Alan Grayson, who was married to Lolita for 24 years, says he was a battered husband and that his marriage should be annulled.
In documents filed in court, Grayson claims that “no legal marriage exists” and that “Ms. Grayson falsely represented that she was NOT legally married to another man,” citing a 1994 order from a judge dissolving a marriage between Grayson’s wife and another man, four years after the Graysons were legally married.
One family law expert believes that Grayson has legal standing, saying they couldn’t possibly be legally married. In the court documents Grayson also contends he was “physically battered by the woman he no longer considers his wife.”
