Amendment Authorizing War Over Benghazi On Track For House Vote (via http://crooksandliars.com)

By Susie Madrak May 20, 2014 12:51 pm – Comments This dangerous AUMF is the functional equivalent of a declaration of war in response to the Benghazi attack. It cites no specific enemy and can be used indefinitely. These Republicans just can’t stop…

California Democrats will vote out the embarrassment that is Duncan Hunter. In California, he is a caricature isolated by his racist constituents and his tea party pandering ignorance.

      I sure hope so.

        You’re not alone.

Authorization for the Use of Military Force [AUMF] under the War Powers Act permitting the president of the United States “to use all necessary and appropriate force against those organizations or persons the President determines planned, authorized, or committed the attacks against the United States facilities in Benghazi, Libya that occurred on September 11 and 12, 2012…
Ok please correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems to me this guy wants Congress to bless the Presidents efforts to go get the bad guys.
    I’m ok with that.

Were it not a colossal waste of time, were it not a political republican ploy, were it not a waste of tax payers money that their representatives waste their tax paid for time this way; were it feasible to identify the actual attackers, were there not more effective and important matters to contend with; I’d agree with you

Well….after 9 years of a two front, bloody flustercluck in the middle east, my President sent in a small team and nailed the SOB that masterminded 911. There was no loss of American life. I would not be surprised if the Benghazi bad guys were already identified, and targeted. I’ve always found it odd that the right wants to crucify the President and Secretary Clinton, but they don’t appear to be the slightest bit angry at the people who actually did the killing.

        • AnthonyLook May 20th, 2014 at 11:29 pm

That’s because they are hypocrites and their motives are not honorable. If President Obama identifies those responsible, the last thing he needs is Republican permission to respond. He’d merely send in a drone. He’d do it and with no loss of American life.

I was under the impression that we did know the identity of those that started/led the attack. We just can’t find them.

more wasted time and TAXPAYER monies – typical trait of teabaggers. The US has retained from it’s very origins, the right to defend ourselves against enemies that would do harm to US or our diplomats. Those who attacked US @ BENGHAZI are now the hunted, just as OBL was. When they are tagged, located and targeted, I have no doubt that POTUS Obama will be just as true to his promise as before

“…we will hunt you down and we will kill you.”

Republican POTUS GW Bush, if you recall, was the one who “doesn’t really care where they are”, if you’ll recall, and the Republican Congress was more than happy to go along with the policy of knowing about where they are approximately located (even if at opposite ends of the country) is more than good enough.

The GOP loves war as long as their kids are not fighting,

4 dead instead of one dead Arch-Duke in Austria? wow, this war will be a doozie!

I wonder if that amendment also includes money for the VA support that will be needed?

It always amazes me how these pious “pro lifers” are always itching to kill.

under the War Powers Act the president, if necessary, can launch an offensive for up to 60 days without congressional authorization.
Duncan must have been sleeping while Syria was gassing their people ?
