Absolutely Nothing: A Veteran’s Savage Indictment of the Iraq War (via Americans Against The Tea Party)

Tragically, all we’ve fought for in Iraq, all that 4,500 American lives were shed to gain, is on the cusp, potentially, of vanishing. – Mitt Romney, “Ideas Summit,” 6/13/2014 All we fought for in Iraq. All we fought for in Iraq is on the cusp…

it’s the middle of the night in the usa right now but when I check this article later my evening there had better be 1000+ comments and reactions from the intelligentsia – maybe from wahoo too – or the usa and the site deserve no more attention. This is the state of the usa with its racism and just plain religious lunacy and intolerance and its hidden freedom that is cached by a buy buy public.

  2. edmeyer_able June 15th, 2014 at 6:48 am

Some how this has to be sent to all those he mentioned and any 2016 Potus wannabe.

    • aspromised June 15th, 2014 at 1:04 pm

a good point to bring up in any political debate!

  3. Jake June 15th, 2014 at 7:03 am

At last! Someone said it – all in one go – a masterpiece – this HAS to go viral. I know it is long, but read it all – your reaction will be in direct proportion to your level of humanity.

“I’ll dig out my uniform and strap on my pistol and gird up my sword and ride into battle yet again.
Drag Just so long as Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, and every single one of those powdered, Botoxed talking heads at Fox News are in the vanguard”

    YES…
Drag one of my old aircraft out of the boneyard at Davis Monthan, and I’ll personally fly their flag waving asses over to the hot zone desert shithole of their choice so we can see what REAL patriots are made of.

    Damn!
    Well stated, Mr Starr
Them sob’s owe you and everyone one affected not a thank you for your service but an apology.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 2:39 pm

nothing says ‘I’m sorry we LIED our asses off to you and yours for massive increases in our offshore bank accounts in Dubai ” better than …

      MONEY!!!

      lots and lots of

      MONEY!!!

like in US Justice Department freezing and seizing all offshore bank accounts opened to US Citizens until it is established WHERE the money in the accounts came from!

follow the monies made from the blood sweat and tears of our warriors and redistribute (say, post combat BONUSES, cause it sounds less communist!).

and leave them with a very nice and well considered

      FU2 -double thumbs up!

  7. mea_mark June 15th, 2014 at 11:12 am

Probably the best commentary on the Iraq war and the situation we are in now. Must read.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 3:31 pm

can only HOPE someone in the White House has caught this and placed a nice printed copy on the POTUS desk right beside the telephone in case he decides to make a friendly hello call to Putin’s new BFF’s in the US Legislative Branch – even if he is wearing ‘mom’s jeans’.

  8. arc99 June 15th, 2014 at 11:44 am

Standing by for Bob Waas to come by and remind us that it is all the fault of the Democrats who voted for the war in 2003, and of course President Obama.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 3:21 pm

GOPs have already conceded that it’s a ‘SHARED’ GUILT by the previous POTUS (who is no loner in office) – the current despot who was selected by the coalition of the willing of the previous POTUS (who is no longer in office) – and the current POTUS (who is serving in office) – with it being the current POTUS having the responsibility of correcting the ‘SHARED GUILT’ – otherwise he will be a complete and total failure who must be held fully accountable for ‘SHARED GUILT’ – even with his fake long form Hawaiian birth certificate!

  9. BanditBasheert June 15th, 2014 at 12:13 pm

I don’t think I’d let McWalnuts touch another plane. He crashed 5 before he succeeded in getting captured as a POW – then he sang like a birdie.

    • Dwendt44 June 15th, 2014 at 4:09 pm

Not to mention the little fiasco on the Enterprise. He was the only one ‘punished’, if that’s the word, for the disaster. January of ’69 a missile miss fired and started a huge fire on the flight deck loaded with armed aircraft. McCain’s conduct wasn’t explained, period though claims of horseplay by this clown started the mess. He was summarily transferred off the ship. That’s considered a black mark on your record.

  10. Obewon June 15th, 2014 at 1:14 pm

GOP battlecry: Let’s redouble our 4,486 US KIA in Iraq plus another $6 T wasted ushering in a new lost decade so that big oil bellyaching Koch brother devotees can yell ‘We don’t need no federal guberment’.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 2:31 pm

“it’s taken 10 years and 4,400 lives for US to get where we are now in Iraq” (RWNJ excuse for jumping back in with both feet before thinking – AGAIN)

-does this mean that 20 years and 8,800 lives for US will result in a situation like we now have in Iraq 2X?

and we can do what different THIS time than LAST TIME that will have an outcome we consider favorable to our sacrifices? –

      1. ask Maliki very nicely this time not to be as ruthless?
      2. beg Maliki very nicely this time not to be as ruthless?
      3. blow up as much of the opposition as possible, declare ‘Mission Accomplished 2’ and wait another 3-4 years before asking Maliki very nicely to not be as ruthless?

  11. PatriotNews June 15th, 2014 at 2:00 pm

Whoever wrote this doesn’t seem to know much about the intelligence going into Iraq, especially for someone who claims to have been in military intelligence. He is rather ignorant of the reasons for going to war in Iraq, which is again surprising since he claims he was there. You would think he would take an interest in finding out why we were invading Iraq. While I’m sure there are democrats in the military, usually they are not like most civilian democrats, that is to say, America hating, military hating racists. This guy is the exception.

    • mea_mark June 15th, 2014 at 2:04 pm

If you know so much why don’t you enlighten us. Or are you just trolling?

    • arc99 June 15th, 2014 at 2:34 pm

you are clearly quite confused. first of all, the only America-haters I know of are the Cliven Bundy apologists who hate this country so much, they will pick up a gun and threaten violence against sworn law enforcement officers. your clear hatred for millions of your fellow citizens is also indicative of where the hatred in this country originates.

Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Bob Kerrey, Jimmy Carter, Charlie Rangel, Max Cleland, the founder of leftist website Daily Kos Markos Moulitsas, Tammy Duckworth are just a few prominent Democrats who served with distinction.

No one can control how things “seem” to you. Your misconceptions are your problem and no one else’s. The author of the article has fully disclosed his name and background. If you have objective information to support your rants about his background, then share it.

Otherwise, you are just another low information right wing apologist who actually believed Iraq would cost no more than $50billion and we would be welcomed as liberators.

    • William June 15th, 2014 at 7:40 pm

OK Genius. Please enlighten us all and explain just why we went into Iraq.
We’re waiting. (BTW, this Democrat veteran actually is retired military).
Further, the author is a retired Warrant Officer, Naval Intelligence. That means he walks the walk, IE he worked his way up from Enlisted.

  12. granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 2:19 pm

BS has already been floated in it’s lead balloon out over the Atlantic. Immediate need to jump back in with both feet and plenty of time to respond to questions AFTER we’re neck deep in blood , AGAIN:
    1. these people (terrorist) are from all over the world. They have passports, after 2-3 years of fighting they’ll be coming back home to Europe, to USA! – MUST JUMP BACK IN WITH BOTH FEET NOW, RIGHT NOW! (otherwise, John Deere might begin to suspect those who actually put their life on the line in an attempt to free him and other POW’s in the North have up and turned YELLER!).

take a breath and think: they have passports, yes. They can return to the country that issued them the passports, yes. DOES IT REALLY MATTER!?! -how does this work: we go into Iraq (AGAIN) – they come back home and -what? – We don’t go back into Iraq -they come back home and-what? If their passport shows they were in Iraq during this time period and we DON’T go back in, we can’t legally keep tabs on them, BUTT- if we do go back in, we can legally keep tabs on them? HTF does that work?

    2. THIS JEOPARDIZES WORLD OIL SUPPLIES!!!
take a breath and think: those who oppose the despot Maliki who was placed into power by the coalition of the willing want to overthrow him so they can seal off the Iraqi Oil? No reason to sell it, as they want to go out into the desert and starve to death with their families? THIS is their goal? OH, but they will sell the oil to OUR enemies? HTF does that work? – WORLD OIL SUPPLY- other side buys oil from Iraq, so the US and Europe won’t be buying oil from OUR (allies) – which is also part of WORLD OIL SUPPLY?

GOPs CONNED those who desires are to live in 24/7 FEAR.
    9/11
WMD’s (don’t think about it taking a helicopter the size of Connecticut just to be able to carry enough fuel to transport a nuclear bomb to the US from Iraq)
    TERRORIST COLOR CODED 24/7.

and like most slick salesmen hocking off a BS product…don’t take time to think about anything, just sign this contract here, NOW, RIGHT NOW –

Oh, and the future terrorist attacks that WILL happen in the USA (not counting domestic terrorist attacks that are actually KILLING US at 10X, 100X, …UKN X)
well, they could have been prevented had we just ‘fought them over there’ -right?
Explain that to me once again, HTF does that work? – could you maybe tell me which part of INS (now HOMELAND SECURITY) is issuing terrorist attack permits to foreign terrorist who wish to attack US here? That’s definitely one GOP agency that needs to be questioned before an Open congressional hearing!

  13. granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 3:11 pm

don’t fergit to mention Israel and Palestine by name. The RWNJ Christian Extremist get really upset when people fergit to mention Israel and Palestine by name, even if the opposition to Maliki is apparently a ‘good thing’ for their security. Let’s see, mentioned in the mid-east, countries whose security are directly threatened by the despot Maliki being deposed; Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and….Afghanistan (IF WE DON’T KEEP ENOUGH TROOPS IN COUNTRY TO MAKE POTUS OBAMA out to be a liar). Hummmm, wondering why there was no outpouring of ‘GOD’s WRATH’ for not mentioning Israel and Palestine? -! – ???

Follow the money …. it’s not about grudges, it’s about money being used for ultimate power and control …. the international banksters want total control over the finances of ALL nations. Period. Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi had moved off the banksters “petro dollar” to a new, gold standard. This circumvented the international banksters control over them, so Saddam and Muammar were invaded along with the gold-standard supporting countries. The reasons conjured up for the wars are designed solely to make most of the public go along with the freedom charade. So many people waste so much time and energy trying to explain geo politics as if it were a giant high school popularity soap opera. There is no emotion here. It’s all about a fight to control the planet. Nothing less. Barrack, and all the other presidents ultimate have to answer to the banks …. and the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE bank … and as it is, the government (the Administration to be more precise) cannot run without BORROWING money from these banksters. The banksters, in turn, wield total control over the politicians that are “voted” into office. They do what they are told, and spin bullshit story after bullshit story (sometimes backed by false flag operations to scare people into believing them). Just follow the money and you will have your answers.

Dear Alan: Even if your ideas are valid, I’m not going to link your opinions when they are expressed with so much profanity. That really restricts the range of readership you are likely to receive, because I doubt I’m alone in this rationale.

    • arc99 June 18th, 2014 at 6:53 pm

Alan did not write the article.

I think it is part of the problem where cuss words are more offensive to people than thousands of soldiers and civilians dying for no reason.
