The co-founders of Michigan Open Carry have published a children’s book describing it as  a “unique kid’s book” which “will be treasured for years to come and will be passed down to new family members.”

Just look at that happy family, with the armed parents and their kid in the middle…trapped. We live in a society where there is so much fear, that upsetting other families, is considered a right. Some parents don’t want their children around gun dorks. With their smiling faces and guns on their hips, this family looks absolutely frightening.

The group gunsplains, “Before writing this, we looked for pro-gun children’s books and couldn’t find any. Our goal was to provide a wholesome family book that reflects the views of the majority of the American people…”

Watch:

As Raw Story notes, a recent study in the journal Pediatrics shows that nearly 10,000 children in the United States are injured or killed by firearms every year.

The description at the bottom for the book reads, “We often get requests from Tea Party Groups and home-schoolers for bulk discount orders.”

I have no doubt that’s true.

Big thanks to my buddy @TomCInmidlife for the links.

They left out the tale about going to Toys R Us in search of a ‘Bushmaster Barbie’ doll and making a scene when told that it didn’t exist. /s/

‘Holiday’ children’s magazine’s gun issue with all kinds of targets you can rip out and use for practice!

I was wondering why the daughter didn’t have a bright pink gun on her?? We are in serious trouble over here…

How well would this book sell if that were an African-American or Hispanic family on the cover?

I wondered why the illustrator was so focused on blonde hair and blue eyes O.o.

Don’t you love the fact that Dad looks like a creepy truck driver while mom is wearing jorts? But no, that’s not stereotyping. lol

“Before writing this, we looked for pro-gun children’s books and couldn’t find any…” I’m amazed that no one had ever thought this would be a good idea! Look for other family coloring books with the family friendly titles of: “Daddy Was Yelling And Shot Mommy” and “Young Billy Shot His Sister” and, my personal favorite, “”Daddy Was Cleaning His Gun”.

Coloring books? Better stock up on blood-red crayons.

  5. Um Cara August 2nd, 2014 at 11:51 am

What in the world?!? What is that child doing without a gun? What if that good child without a gun comes up against a bad child with a gun?

Or what if he/she wants a pepsi, and mom wouldn’t give it to her… How is she supposed to convince mom?

Looks like it musta been published by one of those gun grabbin liberals who want to confiscate our guns!

There’s not much difference between Hezbollah (the Party of God) and the GOP (God’s Own Party).

They both believe that God gives them the right to arm children and kill soldiers, police, and other government officials that they believe are tyrannical.

        • Spirit of America August 3rd, 2014 at 8:01 am

Not only did you get an abbreviation incorrect, you also got the philosophy of one incorrect. Could be why you can’t see the huge gulf of difference between the two.

  11. Mainah August 2nd, 2014 at 12:20 pm

If your a gun family, who are you buying the book for exactly? Is it at the door when your kid’s friends show up? Hey, kid … read this while I leave my loaded gun out.

One YouTube commenter writes, “Outstanding! I can’t wait for the followup “My Parents’ Trial For Negligent Homicide”

    • Mainah August 2nd, 2014 at 12:39 pm

      BAAHAAAHAAA!!!!!!

    • neworleans878 August 2nd, 2014 at 1:42 pm

Seriously, I wish they would prosecute more people for negligent homicide. Perhaps people would handle their fire arms more carefully.

These idiots seem to believe that the Second Amendment also gives them the right to be careless.

    • Rosie Goldfarb August 2nd, 2014 at 10:07 pm

OMG, is it wrong that I laughed really loudly?

    • ShelleysLeg August 3rd, 2014 at 3:23 pm

Followed by “My Parents Incarceration/CPS/The Aftermath

    • Tim Anderson August 4th, 2014 at 12:06 pm

Except parents are RARELY charged for negligent homicide when their own child dies from their own improperly stored gun. Prosecutors hate the publicity from a grieving family suddenly being charged. They figure they’ve suffered enough. They only charge when it’s someone elses child that their kid accidentally shoots.

      • Anomaly 100 August 4th, 2014 at 12:33 pm

I agree and that’s where this country has taken a very bad turn by not holding negligent gun owners accountable.

  14. ChrisVosburg August 2nd, 2014 at 12:39 pm

Daddy, you’re setting off my gaydar, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Also, sorry about your amputated right hand, result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, no doubt.

    • mea_mark August 2nd, 2014 at 12:57 pm

The holster is his new glove, he loved his gun so much he had it surgically attached where his hand used to be. Now he draws his gun real fast.

      • Mainah August 2nd, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Now every member of the NRA will want one.

      • R.J. Carter August 2nd, 2014 at 4:00 pm

The guy draws almost everyone with their hands shoved in their pockets. It’s upper-level Rob Liefeld -itis. (Liefeld had trouble drawing feet, so most of his heroes always ended up standing in rubble or dust clouds.)

        • mea_mark August 2nd, 2014 at 4:08 pm

I know that. The artist just lined it up way to neatly with the gun. I would of offset it just a bit. I guess I just know too many artist. I would never have done that. If you want to hide something you need to be careful how you hide it and not draw attention it.

I’m waiting for the sequel “Girl dies after an “accidental” discharge while gun was being “cleaned”, which wasn’t the guns fault at all”

Guaranteed best seller. I might even buy 6 copies.

How SICK has America become that we now enshrine FEAR and violence into children’s books? Keep your phallic replacement LOCKED IN A SAFE at home, NOT in our city streets, shops, and schools!

Mommy & Daddy can I take my gun with when I go Trick or Treating. I sure you know some neighbors I could visit. You know, those freaks down the street who won’t listen to Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin. Please?
Ok, well, how about bringing it to the Halloween party after school? They won’t let us wear our gorilla fighter costumes anymore but maybe a gun would send them the message that I am the son of GI Joe from hell.

  27. viva_democracy August 3rd, 2014 at 1:16 pm

Our goal was to provide a wholesome family book that reflects the views of the majority of the American people…”

Statement made with nothing to back it up with. Why don’t they recognize that the majority of the American people want stricter gun laws?
