Christian Right-Winger Aligns With ISIS
There are no words to describe the mind of Bryan Fischer, and so Karoli lets him speak for himself.
My thesaurus is wearing thin on adjectives to describe hate-filled pseudo-Christians like Bryan Fischer, but my aggravation is going full-tilt over the fact that he makes these statements on the taxpayers’ dime.
Isn’t there a time where we start to say that free speech is fine, but taxpayers are under no obligation to forego American Family Association’s tax payments in the name of Jesus?
Fischer believes that President Obama only intervened to stop the extermination of the Yazidis, who practice an ancient religion yet are considered by ISIS fighters and others to be “devil worshipers.” He began [Friday’s] edition of “Focal Point” by railing against Obama, saying the president only decided to launch airstrikes in Iraq in order to defend “devil worshipers.”
“They go after devil worshipers and all of the sudden the entire weight of the United States government is sent in there to relieve them and to avenge them,” he said. “Those are the Yazidis.”
Fischer adds, “President Obama will fight for Satan worshipers, but he will not fight for Christians.”

AFA isn’t even a joke anymore. I don’t understand how it yearly stays off the lists of hate groups.
jasperjava August 10th, 2014 at 10:24 am
The SPLC lists it:

BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:30 pm
They are a hate group. And proud of it.

Devil worshipers? I dunno, the invisible beings they pray to don’t seem all that different than the one so-called Christians pray to.
Cosmic_Surfer August 10th, 2014 at 10:49 am
Something about imagining deities in one’s own limited image…. The idea that any creative and expansive multiverse should be limited to and by the unimaginative boundaries of human minds is in and of itself exceptionalism at its most grotesque
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:30 pm
The idea that their deity loves them so much he will condemn them to burn in hell forever? Nothing says love as much as that concept.
Cosmic_Surfer August 10th, 2014 at 10:43 am
For Fischer, everyone not him is a devil worshipper…Why is ISIS being picked out as being good for “Dog”
Roctuna August 10th, 2014 at 10:48 am
Talibagger supports taliban. No surprise there.
arc99 August 10th, 2014 at 10:52 am
Another excellent entry for the chapter of my diary, entitled “No Both Sides Do NOT Do It”.
Hate-filled insanity from prominent leaders of national organizations is the exclusive province of the political right.
KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker August 10th, 2014 at 10:58 am
Thank you!
The ‘both sides’ horse shit has long been disproven except in our corporate media complex. We now have one political party that is centrist similar to Eisenhower republicans and another party that is completely bat-shit crazy and off the rails insane.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:29 pm
And dangerous. Highly dangerous if you don’t ascribe to their religious fantasies.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:29 pm
The “false equivalency” argument really doesn’t fly pretty much ever. It’s just an excuse for idiots to keep spewing their hate and venom over people who disagree with them.
Religion is out of hand in this country. Using religion as an excuse to harm others is becoming the norm in the Republican party.
bhil August 10th, 2014 at 11:00 am
Obama will only fight for “devil worshipers” and not christians does this guy know any christians?
mea_mark August 10th, 2014 at 11:04 am
The right-wing wackos will say and do just about anything to get attention and of course get you to send in a donation to their tax free scam. If those scamming don’t have to pay taxes, why should anybody have to? Stop tax free religious scamming now.
Larry Schmitt August 10th, 2014 at 11:13 am
If they took away the deduction for religious contributions, a lot of the churches would dry up. Then maybe some of those leeches would have to get an actual job. That would be fine with me, but Congress would never let that happen.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:27 pm
Agree … there should be NO tax freedom for religious institutions. Mainly because it is unfair to everyone else.
fahvel August 10th, 2014 at 11:06 am
xians like this guy are in the same camp as isis but one hell of a lot more stupid.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:26 pm
But dangerous. Don’t minimize Fischer – he has a huge population of highly agitated mental hospital dropouts who are willing to start whatever war he wants. It isn’t Fischer so much as his influence over the braindead people who believe every hateful word out of his mouth.
mmaynard119 August 10th, 2014 at 5:42 pm
Now, now Bandit.Let’s not insult highly agitated mental hospital dropouts like that.
tiredoftea August 10th, 2014 at 11:37 am
Despicable Him pretty much covers it.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:24 pm
Him I get. But his followers are dangerous to all of us who do not follow in their path. Ideally ISIS is doing what Fischer wants done to non Christians in this country.
psphilip August 10th, 2014 at 12:09 pm
this man is beyond SICK..does he NOT realize the ISIS pe-lpe also are killing “chrsitians” demanding they convert or pay a religion tax? his lack of knowledge is beyond ignorant….all in all JUST a bigoted racist WHITE CHRSITIAN forgetting the crusades and inquisition and now supporting ISIS in doing the same…BUT this time CHRISITANJS are as much a target as ALL other minority religons
M D Reese August 10th, 2014 at 12:35 pm
Took the words right out of my mouth. These christers really need to do a little navel gazing. Their inquisition of us non-christians is still going on, right here in America.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:22 pm
Ideally ISIS would start killing those of us who don’t fall over weeping with joy when Bryan Fischer begins spewing his Christian hatred to his masses.
The reason they support ISIS and the killing is because it’s what he wants to do to us. Do not kid yourself. Bryan Fischer represents a HUGE segment of our population. They want us dead because they can’t make us believe in their sky guy.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:21 pm
Well obviously HIS Christian Jebus is very different from other people’s Jebus. Which makes him even more special.
This man is legally insane.
Suzanne McFly August 10th, 2014 at 12:10 pm
Come on now, who is shocked by this?
M D Reese August 10th, 2014 at 12:32 pm
I know I’m sure not.
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:19 pm
In a way, I am. I was raised to believe in the inherent good qualities that MOST individuals possess. This type of insane rhetoric is almost stunning – but what is even more hideous (to me) is that people take this ignorant hateful human seriously.
He should have been locked up years ago for sedition.
Herb Sarge Phelps August 10th, 2014 at 12:53 pm
well he needs to go over there and join Isis. I think they will give him a welcome he will NEVER forget.

Deeply deeply disturbed….and pays no taxes.
What’s wrong with this whole picture?
Jake August 10th, 2014 at 1:27 pm
Every week I get another example to prove the unavoidable truth that christianity is the most evil force on earth.- and christians themselves are the most evil scum who pollute this planet.
TAX the CHURCHES!
BanditBasheert August 10th, 2014 at 1:32 pm
And don’t forget, their deity loves them. He promised that if they aren’t good little fascists, he will burn them in hell forever. Kind of an oxymoron ..??

Proof once again that the American equivalent of the Taliban is the Christian right.

Christians killing in the name of god in the middle east or Israel
Where in ancient history have I read that before ?

Where, in this clip, do christians (including Mr. Fischer) advocate killing anyone? I really don’t understand most of the comments below? He just wants our Pres. to come to the aid of christians when they are in this kind of trouble.
fancypants August 11th, 2014 at 6:48 pm
usually when an undeclared war is given the nod by a gov it sometimes turns into a holy war ( video above ) as ive said in the past we have had battles here on our soil and it wouldn’t have ended well if other countries got involved no matter what religion dictated. Im suggesting we as a nation do the same.
ideagal August 10th, 2014 at 7:01 pm
I’ve read a few comments below. What are you talking about? I’m a Christian and a conservative and I’ve never heard of this guy Fischer and his program. But I listened to the clip. From what I have heard on news reports, the folks he refers to as “devil worshippers” are of a religion that is part christian, part muslim and part pagan. If he wants to call them devil worshippers, it is irrelevant to the point he is making. He is criticizing Pres. Obama (OMG…criticizing Pres. O is what has you stirred up, isn’t it?) for NOT coming to the defense of Christians in the many instances that have occurred during his administration. (He lists some of the examples. Have you even heard of them?) Liberals seem to see a boogeyman in every conservative. What is wrong with you?
Bunya August 11th, 2014 at 12:34 am
So why should the president single out saving Christians and let all others die?
This man is not interested in saving anybody. He’s merely rallying his base in an attempt to draw attention to himself and, in the process, bring in more cash. All organized religions are in it for the money, that’s all.
Jeff Baker August 10th, 2014 at 8:01 pm
Okay, now I want to hear him say “Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly!”
mcalleyboy August 10th, 2014 at 8:22 pm
Never heard of this oddity but there are nutty extreme religious fanatics, he doesn’t represent all Christians or those that believe in God, this man represents those that don’t’ bother to read the bible or study it or try to understand it (it seems to have many flaws) but blindly are lead to the cool-aid. Comparing this guy to main stream religion is like comparing Vegetable eaters against meat eaters, both have no clue what there talking about and there’s no proof vegetables will make you live longer.
Skip Patterson August 10th, 2014 at 10:38 pm
The rantings and ravings of another Christofascist. Nothing new in America.
SkeeterVT August 11th, 2014 at 7:14 am
Bryan Fischer is a far-right-wing “Christian” extremist who’s made a career of virulent anti-gay activism that rivals that of the late former Westboro Baptist Church leader Fred Phelps. He is also rabidly anti-Muslim — which makes his rhetoric against President Obama’s efforts to save members of Iraq’s Yazidi religious minority from certain death at the hands of the Muslim extremist group ISIS all the more outrageous.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, Fischer, a nationally syndicated Christian radio host, began garnering national attention after he was hired by the American Family Association (AFA), which the Southern Poverty Law Center listed as an anti-gay hate group in 2010.
Since joining the AFA as director of issue analysis for government and public policy, Fischer has used the group’s website and its radio network to promote outrageous and false claims about LGBT people, Muslims, Native Americans and African Americans.
Despite Fischer’s extreme views – like blaming gay men for the Holocaust, calling for the re-criminalization of homosexuality, and calling for the banning of Muslim immigration to the U.S. – prominent conservatives continue to appear on Fischer’s radio show.
You can read the SPLC’s report on Fischer by clicking onto the link below:

Fucktard.
cwazycajun August 11th, 2014 at 2:43 pm
And they wonder why people are running away from the religious right in droves and the only people who still listen to them are as backasswards as the fisher themselves
