Have you ever stopped and said to yourself, “You know, with all the things going on in my life right now, I wonder what Sarah Palin thinks about the Redskins controversy?” Don’t worry, I’m here with the answer you never wanted, for the question you never asked. Recall that this whole thing sparked when someone, somewhere,…

I’m sure she’s also visited Rick Perry’s “Ni**er Rock”.
MIAtheistGal August 26th, 2014 at 9:57 am
I love the old ‘it’s always been that way’ argument. I mean, if we go with that, Palin wouldn’t even be able to vote, as before 1920, it had always been males only voting.
Terrible argument, by anyone.
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 11:18 am
Too bad we can’t reinstate that, just for her.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 12:09 pm
I would concur, there are a lot more logical arguments to choose from. Like only a small minority of Native Americans support the removal of the team name, many schools on reservations also have the team name Redskins, Indians, Braves, Chiefs, or what have you. We are also not in agreement on what the intention of the term even means, yet a few PC sports reporters decided it was a racist term, starting the explosion of the Twittersphere and the hashtag bandwagon.
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:38 pm
Black males got the right to vote (on paper at least) long before women did. Oh–and happy Women’s Suffrage Day, people. August 26, 1920, women finally got the right to vote in this country.

“Rush Limbaugh’s is always on top of the pile…”
She’s got that right. He’s on top of a pile of steaming horse sh*t!!!
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:34 pm
He IS the pile!
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 7:00 pm
when i read that, i thought palin’s choice of words then laughed my ass off.
Always Right August 26th, 2014 at 10:05 am
Enough with the PC crap already. Does anyone think the name was chosen to insult American Indians?
My doctor is an immigrant from Libya. He doesn’t understand why so many Americans wake up each day looking for things that may insult them or others.
mdram August 26th, 2014 at 10:16 am
First off, how about you stop insulting my people by calling Native Americans Indians? The only Indians come from Asia.
Your Libyan doctor may not understand it, but ask him how Muslims like him are being treated these days and then maybe he’ll understand a little more.
The name “Redskins” may not have been chosen to insult anyone, but that’s because that term was commonplace as was the “N” word, retard and midget. Think those are okay too?
Always Right August 26th, 2014 at 10:22 am
Your response failed the logic test. My cousin’s dad was Cherokee and he referred to himself as half Indian. I’ll have to tell to stop insulting himself.
You mat want to check our Federal documents that list race with one choice being Indian.
mdram August 26th, 2014 at 10:26 am
LOL..didn’t say you’re insulting them..said you’re insulting actual Indian people…
Carla Akins August 26th, 2014 at 10:52 am
whoosh, right over his head…
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:34 pm
Always right = always wrong.
Always Right August 26th, 2014 at 1:04 pm
I have to agree with you that it can be quite confusing. Let me ask you a question. Are the Cleveland Indians named after Native Americans or people from India?
mdram August 26th, 2014 at 1:06 pm
Confusing indeed…but what do you think?
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 1:48 pm
The original name of the Cleveland team, back in the 1890’s, was the Spiders. Considering some of the stories told about old Municipal Stadium (the Mistake by the Lake), a much more fitting name.
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 10:43 am
The only reason they are called Indians is because Columbus was lost, and thought he had found the Northwest Passage, and he thought he was in Asia. Canadians don’t call their native tribes Indians, they call them First Nations.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 12:04 pm
I might be mistaken, but the indigenous people of Mexico are also referred to as indians, are they not?
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 12:29 pm
It probably depends on whom you talk to.
mea_mark August 26th, 2014 at 1:06 pm
I think of them as Mayans.
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 11:47 am
I’ve been trying to retard my use of the word ‘midget.’

Slow. Golf. Clap.
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:32 pm
What’s that you always say? “Baby steps”?
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 12:36 pm
I’m still going to hell for my racist, shortist use of “nidgets.”
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 12:03 pm
Are you and others still going to support the removal of the team name “Redskins” when the team is on a reservation?
m2old4bs August 26th, 2014 at 10:40 am
You just don’t get it, do you? It is not “PC crap.” It is simply calling someone or an ethnic group by their rightful name, their self-chosen name, rather than by the color of their skin. Should we call all Caucasians “Whiteskins” or “Pale faces” regardless of British, German, Russian, Jewish, Norwegian, Gypsy et al ancestry? That’s what the term “Redskins” imply, that there is no difference among the Native Nations of the Americas, no difference in culture, history nor spiritual beliefs, no difference in language, political structure nor social organization. It may have been chosen to suggest the fighting spirit of the Native Nations, but the term is an insult nonetheless to every Native American. They are not “Redskins” for they are Dineh, Wampanoag, Pima, Choctaw, Lakota, and so on.
mea_mark August 26th, 2014 at 10:56 am
It was a name chosen to classify a group of people so that it would be easy to demonize them. It is what humanity does when it is evil, like the republicans are today. Ooops, am I now now demonizing republicans for being evil? Sometime the obvious makes things so hard.
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:31 pm
Always right is always a troll.
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 1:53 pm
If we can’t get away with calling the Chicago Robinsons, the Little League team that just played Korea for the world championship, the Chicago Darkies, then why should we be able to use Redskins?
EnuffBull August 26th, 2014 at 10:14 am
Seems like ol’ Sarah, Rush and their cronies are the Republican Emotional Thinskins.
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 10:37 am
I edited your post to get it out of pending. Probably didn’t need to, but why not? 🙂
Pistol-Packing August 26th, 2014 at 12:36 pm
Is that because I used the word F#$&
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 1:25 pm
That’s the only thing I could see. Like we never use it here…

Nicknamed “The Potato Heads”, an accurate “aka” for the politicians in Washington.

“I don’t think it’s derogatory. A lot of people may feel it’s derogatory, I don’t. Now, that’s only my opinion. That doesn’t make me right.”
She finally said something right.
And she’s not the one who gets to decide whether something is derogatory to another group. She can decide if something is derogatory to white, middle aged female dingbats who quit halfway through their job.
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 6:55 pm
Ditka made the quoted statement.
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 11:17 am
And once again, no surprise, she confuses what the First Amendment is all about.
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 6:53 pm
right?
craig7120 August 26th, 2014 at 11:38 am
I wonder how many people who was not a fan of Ms. Palin has changed their minds with this endorsement?
It would be the equivalent of discovering my opinion was in the same line of thinking as Ted Nugent.
I would seriously reconsider my position.
fancypants August 26th, 2014 at 11:39 am
on a serious note Its the best suggestion ive seen so far
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 11:47 am
I always favored Washington Windbags, to honor our congress. They could have a hot air balloon as the logo.
fancypants August 26th, 2014 at 11:52 am
oh you want a truthful team name
Pistol-Packing August 26th, 2014 at 12:38 pm
i would not dishonor the memory of the Tuskegee Airman by naming them “Washington”… I find that very insulting…
m2old4bs August 26th, 2014 at 11:45 am
Thanks for the chuckle!

Are Palin & Co. too stupid to learn a new name?
OldLefty August 26th, 2014 at 1:28 pm
Stand Up for ‘Redskins’ Name And Don’t ‘Cower Under Leftist Control’
___________
If changing a name that is an ethnic slur and objectionable to those who belong to that ethnic group is “leftist control, does that mean that “rightist control” is ramming that ethnic slur that is objectionable to those who belong to that ethnic group down our throats?

Maybe Palin is trying to make her name synonymous with idiot. For example, “boy, that guy is a real Palin!”
Larry Schmitt August 26th, 2014 at 3:17 pm
Works for me.
