It’s been a fun joke, but Long Island Republican Congressman Peter King was serious. King was also pissed off that the president talked about the economy when an American was beheaded.

Summer suits, according to Rep. King, are not appropriate garb for talking about terrorism or ISIS, and especially when the President says he doesn’t have a strategy to deal with the resurgence of terrorism.

“For him to walk out — I’m not trying to be trivial here — in a light suit, light tan suit, saying that first he wants to talk about what most Americans care about the revision of second quarter numbers on the economy,” he seethed. “This is a week after Jim Foley was beheaded and he’s trying to act like real Americans care about the economy, not about ISIS and not about terrorism. And then he goes on to say he has no strategy.”

If you have to belittle the color of a man’s suit, then you lost the argument before you opened your mouth.

I was mocking his suit yesterday on Twitter but I was joking. This dude is serious.

I guess he follows you, and didn’t get the joke. It’s all your fault!

I’m not trying to be trivial here so with that being said I’m going to be trivial. What?

The Lawless King, Monarch, Emperor, Tyrannical,
    Dictator, Imperial President is just
Weak, Feckless, & Leading From Behind!!!!!
Last week, he didn’t even “Put on a TIE!!”
and now THIS!!! A Tan suit??? WTF is he thinking???

(Remember: May 2, 2011 – At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Obama knew of the planned mission to target Osama bin Laden)

President Obama is a student of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.

“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must
seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are
near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we
must make him believe we are near.”

Great, now he’s doing what some Commie tells him!

So he is too black to be president, but his suit isn’t black enough to be president either.

You would almost think they didn’t like him for a reason.

Seriously is that the best the repugs have? The colour of his suit? At some point these idiots really do have to step back and ask themselves “am I an asshole?”

  5. NW10 August 29th, 2014 at 6:11 pm

President Obama needs to go old school: full suit, top hat, and monocle.

What Rep. King doesn’t want is for the president to talk about how the economy is improving, especially since he and his buddies have been saying for the last five years that “President Obama is bad for the U.S. economy.” I think this is the real reason he decided to criticize the president’s suit and talk about terrorism. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think Rep. King has no constitutional role to play in foreign policy. I also think that the reason so many republicans are portraying themselves as powerless is because they already know that if the president asks them to participate in crafting a strategy, they’ll run and find somewhere to hide.

King should bring his laments to the intrepid team of FOX and Friends.
They’re always looking for an excuse to have another Obama-bashing ‘petty party’.

Peter King is a dolt if all he can whine about is a color of the suit that the President is wearing. King’s favorite pattern is probably seersucker.

    • Gidawdah August 30th, 2014 at 3:14 am

or a blue polyester leisure suit with a white belt and white shoes?
This is ALL so damn ridiculous.

      • William August 30th, 2014 at 10:59 am

or a blue polyester leisure suit with a white belt and white shoes?
        That would be priceless.

I think his favorite pattern is some thing other than seersucker…it starts with a C and rhymes with Block sucker.

these people have no life at all. when there’s nothing to complain about, make yourselves look more petty. fk’ the economy, lets have a discussion on national television about our dislike for the Presidents suit. geez.

So republicans have fashion police just like Iran does? It is no coincidence that republicans have all the same strange behaviors that Muslim extremists have.

  11. PunkAssPro August 30th, 2014 at 8:21 am

Clearly The President is buying his suits from Frank & Oak as advertised on this site. Course as a man, i would not wear their clothing.

    • atunionbob August 31st, 2014 at 4:28 pm

Why dont we all just go naked????

Back in the dark ages of the 60’s my older sister was sent home from school because her skirt rose slightly above her knees when she walked. (sneakers, jeans and trousers on girls were forbidden). Clear violation of our ultra white bread catholic community dress code. My parents were told that it was a “distraction”. Mom and Dad, rebellious to a fault said “distraction? we’ll SHOW you distraction”. Two days later my sister arrived at school in a full blown hoop dress right out of the ball scene from gone with the wind. That outfit complied with the dress code. A good time was had by all, not a lot gone done because of the new distraction and the school board began to bring the dress code into the 20th century.
The President should show up at the next news conference in either a tuxn’tails, or a captain America outfit.

So Peter King is the fashion director of the Congress now? Since when does it matter what color suit one has on..When I was 16 I had a paisley colored suit. I also had leisure suits, back then too. Times change and so does fashion…I thought he looked damn good in that tan suit. So Peter King,,,,go screw yourself and any one else who thinks like that can too.

Hahahahaha, the link to this piece from the “News Behaving Badly” section of the home page truncates the headline as: “Republican Congressman Expresses Anger About Obama’s Tan.”
