ReaganBook, the Conservative alternative to Facebook, was created because the site’s management considered the latter to be “too liberal,” and it was quickly taken down after Janet Porter, the owner said, “We’ve been invaded!”

The site was trolled so hard, they had to take it offline, but the sneaky sneaksters behind the site have changed the name to Freedombook.com, which will surely stop any trolling (wink wink).

reagan-ears

[su_center_ad]Janet Porter launched her “Facebook for Patriots” but apparently Reagan’s name was not Freedom-y enough.

Reaganbook now redirects to Freedombook showing a notice which reads, “Coming soon!”and we are all very excited.

Porter believed that Facebook restricts Conservative voices, which is a conspiratorial theory, not at all based on fact. Most liberals, myself included, have had innocuous posts removed by the behemoth social site.

Others have tried to emulate Facebook using a Conservative bent and those, too, have failed.

Reaganbook ended after less than 24 hours after its launch, leaving the message, “Thank you to all those who participated in the pre-release of ReaganBook.com.”

The announcement continued, “Your participation is helping us build a more secure site. Thank you! Please be patient while we make the necessary changes to keep the site free from obscenity, pornography, and those intent on the destruction of life, liberty, and the family. We will be opening the doors again soon with additional protections in place. As Reagan taught us, trust, but verify.”

But when the site launched, Porter wrote, “We’re tearing down walls of tyranny, or censorship.”

@Mea_Mark found the info page on Freedombook. Last time it appears that Porter used a cheap server which is why it couldn’t stay up for more than a minute, and it took ages for a page to load. I’m not saying that I was there (I was there) trolling the site that night.

Porter could just use this new invention called “moderators” in order to keep the trolls at bay. She can’t have ours though.

Freedombook, because liberals need a good place to freely troll.

  3. Obewon September 17th, 2014 at 10:23 pm

Fundamentalist Porter thinks life begins in a petri dish ‘thou shalt not stem cell research.’ If so then Socialist Security begins in invitro too with 4+ natural miscarriages preceding each live birth earning hazard pay benefits for all women. Maybe Porter’s lemmings clued her in to St. Ronnie’s prochoice legislation hence her surrender to freedumbook & freedumbBook.

What part of RayGun was a lousy President don’ they understand? Shame on the trolls, for invading their site; where they share their love for life and liberty in the name of FreeDum.

The new site is hosted by GreenGeeks. From GreenGeeks’ website: “The invitation to join the EPA’s Green Power Partnership is truly an honor and reinforces our passion and commitment to be a leading green web hosting service provider.”
I wonder if they even know their hosting dollars are going to such a company. Watching GOPsters do IT is like watching someone search for the “Any” key.
    As Mr. Burns says, “High-Larious!”

Your restraint in the launching of the new social site is to be admired!

How long before it gets trolled into oblivion by mischievous liberals?

    • Um Cara September 18th, 2014 at 8:11 am

Trolling is just a form of bullying. I doubt very seriously that libs will stoop to that level. Not in our DNA to do so. Leave it to the thirteen year old kids in their basements be the ones to do that kind of thing.

      • Larry Schmitt September 18th, 2014 at 8:22 am

It did happen with the initial launch of Reaganbook.

        • Um Cara September 18th, 2014 at 8:45 am

That’s a shame. Probably was just misguided kids, not adult libs. Perhaps they have matured since then? We can only hope.

Personally, I think a site like this is begging to be trolled, and deserves to be. The difference between the admittedly liberal sites, such as this one, and the hysterical conservative sites, is, they claim “to keep the site free from obscenity, pornography, and those intent on the destruction of life, liberty, and the family.” That’s a direct quote from this article. Who can resist the urge to troll someone that pretentious?

          • Um Cara September 18th, 2014 at 10:06 am

            >Who can resist the urge to troll someone that pretentious?

Being good people/citizens is not about other people, it’s about ourselves. We either are the kind of folks who bully people we don’t like, or we are the type of people who don’t bully.

I’m very surprised that a website with Alan’s name in the URL would encourage bullying. I’m sure Alan doesn’t read everything on this site, but I would certainly be curious if he does in fact support this kind of thing – perhaps one of the mods could ask him if he would like to weigh in on this?

          • Larry Schmitt September 18th, 2014 at 10:11 am

I disagree that trolling is automatically classified as bullying. If they don’t want snark and snide on the site, hire some active and competent moderators, like this site has. Some that won’t automatically delete dissenting views, but will ban abusive posters.

          • jasperjava September 18th, 2014 at 10:28 am

The conservative worldview is all about bullying: enriching the plutocrats while squeezing the middle class and crushing the poor; bombing the world into submission; promoting white supremacy; defending police brutality; waging war on women’s rights; etc.

In that context, making fun of conservatives with witty comments on their idiotic websites seems like fair game.

          • mea_mark September 18th, 2014 at 10:52 am

I think some trolling is acceptable when it comes to pointing out absolute total stupidity. If someone is going to post lies and fabrications they deserve it. If they don’t like it, they shouldn’t do it.

Come on, you aren’t even very good at trolling, it should be easy peasy to cut it out. Every good troll knows it’s “YOUR not the boss of me!”

You keep it up w/ the correct grammar and nobody will believe your heart is really in it.

    yep. – trust but verify.
    verified:
Reagan’s administration was actively trading arms ‘for hostages’? – or most likely MORE MONEY for offshore bank accounts. Even the very same group that bombed the barracks in Beirut – on the very same day.

The national debt increased by over 300% during Reagan/GHW Bush. (look it up!).

While sending hit teams to Columbia to take out Pablo Escobar because drug dealers were the cause for the violence on the streets of America, Reagan’s team was shipping cocaine to the US using US Military cargo planes (kinda like using taxpayers to eliminate their drug competition).

during Reagan’s terms, the US was rolled over from a manufacturing nation to a much lower paid service nation.

due to the national embarrassment of street people eating out of dumpsters, the idea to poison the thrown away food was seriously discussed until it was pointed out the homeless would be DEAD in the streets of America (some suggested just enough to make them violently sick, sos they would disappear and die of starvation – out of sight, out of mind?

elderly people in Florida were surviving off of cat food due to the Reagan economy.

    Offshore banking began it’s BOOM!

It boggles the mind when one considers the GOP is actually proud of this guy.

It’s amazing just how creepy the right can get when they drag Zombie Reagan out and parade him in front of the Rubes.

It astounds me the republicans hold the dimwitted Ronald Reagan in high esteem. They couldn’t find a smarter, more worthy republican to idolize? Lincoln? Teddy Roosevelt? Eisenhower?
But no. They chose the most feeble-minded, the most disastrous president, ever, in the history of the United states, and put him on a pedestal. I will never understand the republican/conservative brain.

    • Cosmic_Surfer September 18th, 2014 at 8:43 pm

But Reagan was magic – who else could turn ginger (a redhead) after age 70 when everyone else on the planet is bald or gray at that age? or assure that a fetus could live outside its placenta and sans umbilical cord after only 5 weeks? Or assure a planet would be ringed with nuclear missiles from space?

      • Bunya September 19th, 2014 at 9:53 am

I’m inclined to believe that Reagan’s only presidential quality was his hair. Republicans love them some hair!

  15. Um Cara September 18th, 2014 at 5:46 pm

I firmly believe the vast majority of those of you trolling (bullying) / arguing for trolling (bullying) are better people than you realize, and can in fact easily allow yourselves to grow past the point where you find it entertaining.
