Teen Mom Gives Baby To Heroin User Because She Wanted To Be ‘A Normal Teen’
A Missouri teenager first claimed her toddler was kidnapped but according to documents, Desiree Ann Marie Cozzoni gave her baby away to a known heroin user because she, “wanted to live the life of a normal teenager.”
Cozzoni is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and making a false police report.
[su_center_ad]“She wrote up her own informal custody papers and indicated she was giving custody away to this other individual,” St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar said.
“The evidence went on to show the individual who had temporary custody per this informal agreement was herself a known heroin user,” Lohmar added.
According to court documents obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the 18-year-old mother drew up non-legal papers granting a heroin user, who had lost custody of her own kids, rights to care for her child.
The woman who she drew the contract up with was a drug user who bought and used heroin daily, often in Cozzoni and her son’s presence, police said.
Cozzoni went as far as to change her phone number to prevent the woman, described as unemployed, homeless and living in motels, from contacting her.
All the charges are misdemeanors. Cozzoni is free after posting a $2500 bail, according to Fox 2 Now.
“The first question that comes to my mind is where is the father in all this? Why wasn`t he there to step in and take care of his child?” Lohmar asked. “Those are questions we don`t have answers for unfortunately.”
According to court papers Cozzoni had recently been living at her grandparents’ home, and it’s possible they may have taken custody of the boy.
On Facebook, Cozzoni wrote that her first supervised visit with the child was scheduled for Thursday.
“I just wish I weren’t a bad mom,” she wrote Tuesday evening. “I wish none of this happened. I just want my baby back.”

As awful as this is, this dirt bag probably will get her baby back.

Could have dropped the kid at the fire station, but probably felt a kinship with the heroin user..,who may, in the long run be a better guardian than the mother.
And my family puzzles over my agnosticism….
