Data: Blacks More In Danger Than Whites Of Deadly Force From Police
ProPublica’s analysis of deadly force by police shows blacks at much greater risk than whites of being shot.

Young black males in recent years were at a far greater risk of being shot dead by police than their white counterparts – 21 times greater i, according to a ProPublica analysis of federally collected data on fatal police shootings.
The 1,217 deadly police shootings from 2010 to 2012 captured in the federal data show that blacks, age 15 to 19, were killed at a rate of 31.17 per million, while just 1.47 per million white males in that age range died at the hands of police.
One way of appreciating that stark disparity, ProPublica’s analysis shows, is to calculate how many more whites over those three years would have had to have been killed for them to have been at equal risk. The number is jarring – 185, more than one per week.
ProPublica’s risk analysis on young males killed by police certainly seems to support what has been an article of faith in the African American community for decades: Blacks are being killed at disturbing rates when set against the rest of the American population.
Our examination involved detailed accounts of more than 12,000 police homicides stretching from 1980 to 2012 contained in the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Report. The data, annually self-reported by hundreds of police departments across the country, confirms some assumptions, runs counter to others, and adds nuance to a wide range of questions about the use of deadly police force.[su_csky_ad]

Where are the markings on the face of DM showing he was beaten? No eye damage indicated here even though it was stated over and over he was hit in the eye. Of course there aren’t any because it never happened in the first place. The murder of MB is just another case of “cop wins because he’s a cop”. In spite of witnesses saying the murder was not justified because MB had his hands up and was much farther away from DW than the cops would admit DW still walks. This kind of “justified” shooting will happen over and over again because cops (especially white) are privileged to do pretty much as they please. There seems to be little or no justice for black kids like Michael Brown or Trayvon Martin. The laws are stacked against them…

Why don’t you look at all of the evidence before making a rash judgement. MB had his fingerprints and blood on the gun, signifying a struggle in the car. Two shots that hit inside the car further this belief. Multiple witnesses from different angles and distances who had no association with MB testified that MB charged DW like he was going to tackle him as he was being shot. This is also furthered by DW’s testimony and the autopsy.
DW has gone through the justice system, and I feel that the grand jury took this case very seriously. Many will claim that MB was unarmed, but when there is a struggle between and officer and a suspect over the gun, the suspect can then out arm the officer if he acquires his firearm.
Is there this much outrage when a black officer shoots a white teen? The same week of the MB shooting a white teen was shot as he was reaching for his headphones so he could hear what the officer was saying. Did you and others go up in arms over that? I didn’t think so.

It happens way more often when blacks are involved though. BTW…the evidence that the grand jury saw was skewed to benefit DW and put MB in light as a thug and criminal. Don’t try to hand me that garbage that there was level playing field at work here because there wasn’t. I won’t buy any of it and neither will anyone else who has even half a clue…

One is a white person and the picture was taken at a distance..the African American was taken close up . #2. If anyone knows anything .. A white person’s skin does not bruise like black skin does…hence, the difference between the two.. and possibly a person is trying to make something out of the low intelligence of the people who would think one wasn’t as badly beaten as the other.

Blacks have the high mortality rate, is caused mainly by other blacks. It seems that a lot of this anger and energy would be better used solving their local problems.

But it is a part of the equation. A lower rate of crime among blacks would lower the incarceration rate and be a lot better for blacks as a whole. How would that best be done?

And how do you come to that conclusion? That belief is the cause of the problem. What evidence do you have to support this opinion? The fact that they(I’m assuming you are refering to black and other minorities) are more often caughr and prosecuted, could be a result of the belief this belief. If you were a police officer and you believed that black people commited most of the crime, then naturally you would be more suspicious and more vigilant of black people, you would arrest more black people. You would be less vigilent and suspicious of white people and arrest fewer white people thus reasuring your belief.

DOJ statistics only tell us who we are arresting, and for what crime, it does’nt. Cover crimes that are not caught. In order to conclude who is responsible for the most crime you would have to know how much crime actually occurs, and who is commiting those crimes.

That has been the single most unspoken point as it will point to the fact that the BLACK race is nothing short of a breeding ground for Crime, so that being said, if the Blacks want to change the numbers, they need to raise their children to join the Military and then go to a trade school if they want to do anything more than wash dishes, or deliver pizzas!.

Among persons over age 24, Blacks (11.2%) were
significantly more likely to be pulled over while driving than Whites (8.9%).
Among drivers stopped for speeding, Blacks (75.7%)
and Hispanics (79.4%) were more likely than Whites (66.6%) to be ticketed
Police were more likely to conduct a search of the
vehicle and/or driver in traffic stops involving Black male drivers (15.9%) or
Hispanic male drivers (14.2%), compared to White male drivers (7.9%).

I think less serious crimes, as in what should be misdemeanors such as possession crimes don’t need jail time to begin with.
That being said there is a problem with recidivism of those released after serving their time. If that could be handled we would need a lot fewer prisons.
Illegal alien criminals I feel we should not have filling our jails. almost thirty percent of federal prisoners are illegal immigrants. The serious felony offenders should be sent back to their country of origin.

Most illegals who are criminals are deported, and I believe that much of the recidivism is a result of the school to prison pipeline.

That case was indeed a travesty of justice if reporting was accurate. The local people should organize and elect a school board and officials to remedy the problem. It is much easier to do it on a local level.
Judges and prosecutors can be recalled in many states, and impeached in all.

According to DOJ figures there are a lot of illegals serving time in federal prison, and 37k of them were released back into American communities last year.

At what point as in how many crimes committed, especially violent crimes do we quit releasing someone from jail who seems to simply keep committing crimes? Or can we permanently incarcerate?

I say that we need to build a 250,000 Convict prison on an Island where we have ‘Territorial’ Control, and those that are to spend the rest of their laves in a cell, are not even in the U.S.A. to be a problem, and when this TRUE SUPERMAX is fully staffed by retired U.S. Marines, that treat the Convicts like recruits in January 1942, That will send the message that if you do not want to undergo such a form of simple ‘LIFE’ ? and lets not forget that there will be a belt fed Heavy Machine Gun in a tower ever 100 feet, keeping the Convicts in line will not be a problem, and stacking them 3 to a bunk, will have 2/3rds up and moving until they are TOLD! to get in the rack and shut their eyes,!.
I can assure each of you that they will be doing nothing more than snore until they are TOLD to get up and fall out, This will serve as more than enough of a deterant!, that we can close down 3 of 4 prisons.
