Giuliani On Blacks Killed By Police: ‘Statistics Don’t Mean Anything’
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was confronted by CNN’s Erin Burnett on the numbers of young black men killed by white cops.
He said the NYPD isn’t even majority-white and the thought of there being systemic racism within the department is “an outrageous lie.”
Burnett confronted Giuliani with some statistics about blacks being targeted by the police, but Giuliani dismissively said, “Statistics don’t tell you anything.” He wanted to know the specific circumstances of what these black individuals did to warrant them being shot down by cops.
He threw out a statistic of his own, that blacks commit a striking majority of murders. Burnett pushed back and they tussled a bit, with Burnett saying “if you are gonna play statistics that way…” and Giuliani responding, “You’re the one that brought up statistics.”

Statistics don’t matter to right wingers when pointing out racism within police forces around America,they just matter when seeking to justify why it is OK for the police to murder black men,and never be held accountable for their actions

They don’t seem to matter to blacks in major cities like Chicago as it is black youth killing other black youth every day. 6 dead & 20 injured – no police involved from Christmas eve until Saturday.

With crime rates at their lowest in 40 years, both political parties need to take responsibility for the climate of fear that is leading to this rash of police related violence against young black people. In order to keep themselves in office and appear tough on crime the political elite are more than willing to sacrifice not only the lives of these victims of police brutality, but also the 2.5 million of our fellow citizens that they need to keep behind bars and away from their families in order to make the rest of us feel safe. The fact is, we are safer from violent crime than we have been at any time in my lifespan.
