[su_right_ad]The Osceola, Florida church was the scene of a gun duel between a janitor and the pastor.

According to My Fox Orlando, Pastor Terry Howell met with janitor Benjamin Parangan at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, supposedly with the intention of terminating his employment at the Living Water Fellowship Church. During their meeting, Parangan allegedly pulled out a gun and began firing shots at Howell.

Howell then drew his own gun and fire back at Parangan, striking him. The pastor was uninjured. Both men, according to reports, had concealed weapons permits.

Parangan was taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center in critical condition, and was later reported to be in stable condition. Several witnesses were in the church at the time of the shooting, as was a group of children at a childcare facility adjacent to the church.[su_csky_ad]

This is the kind of society that the gun nuts want: a Wild West free-for-all where even minor disagreements are settled with bullets.

Don’t blame the well armed UNREGULATED pulpit militia member for wanting to discontinue the employment of the well armed UNREGULATED building custodian militia member. Not safe having someone who is armed cleaning as it could possibly be dangerous to other well armed UNREGULATED militia persons on the religious building’s grounds. With as many accidental shootings that guns do in the US, it’s the smart thing to do. Fortunately no one had their gun taken out of their cold dead hands!

    God Bless Florida!

Nothing like a couple of responsible, law abiding concealed carry gun owners blasting away at each other inside a church..

I sure feel a lot safer..
    Dont you??

Gunfights in churches…it’s the American way….by god!

This is what you get when you preach fire and brimstone. It’s amazing to me, a man of God doesn’t feel safe in the House of the Lord. And the worker obviously didn’t feel the love, or receive it.

No wonder people around the world think Americans are insane. The idea of a pastor or any employee of a church carrying a gun on church property is just too insane to contemplate but it probably happens every day in this increasingly weird country we live in.

Why did the pastor need a permit for a concealed weapon??? The weekly collection is so big?

In case you didn’t give your full 10%.

This part of the OP answers your question as to why the pastor needed a permit for a concealed weapon:

“… Pastor Terry Howell met with janitor Benjamin Parangan at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, supposedly with the intention of terminating his employment at the Living Water Fellowship Church. During their meeting, Parangan allegedly pulled out a gun and began firing shots at Howell. …”

Nothing in there about the collection.

            yep

    • burqa January 2nd, 2015 at 3:26 am

      Au contraire.
In the case at hand, the pastor would have been shot and possibly killed if he didn’t have a gun – one properly permitted, by the way – to defend himself. Who knows if the shooting would have stopped once the pastor was killed?

A reading from the Book of Remington, chapter 30, lines Ought to Six: And the Lord speaketh not, but droppeth the hammer upon the Evil-doers and followers of Custodian; and He emptieth His Mighty Magazine and as His Brass was ejected, there was much rejoicing in the heavens.

the pastor said to the custodian
you came here with a gun and good looks but your not leaving with both

-and now, for something entirely new and different:

what if this had been a Mosque and the shooters had been Muslim?
    -or-
two Kristian Pastors of two different Kristian denominations?

street scene shootout at past high noon (JIC one of the windbags runs a little over ‘God’s allotted time’….

    and – ACTION:

Forgive them father for they know not what they do …

  15. burqa January 2nd, 2015 at 3:22 am

    Good for the pastor.
He had to defend himself and fortunately, was a better shot than the bad guy.
One hopes Parangan will become a guest of the state, during which time he sees the errors of his ways while making little ones out of big ones.
