I had the privilege of seeing Don Rickles on stage at Harrahs Hotel Casino in Reno, Nv once and he was the funniest man I’d ever seen. He would cut people to the quick in the audience but people loved him. One thing tho, and we who lived in Reno knew, was that he would buy the dinner or the cocktails (depending on which show) for the person or couple he had picked on. The GOP may act and sound like Rickles but they could never match his kindness, not unless they do a 180 left turn, which I seriously doubt.
