One has to wonder if the South Carolina senator fears that gay marriage will lead to polygamy. Polygamy isn’t a right straights have, either.

You can’t make these kinda crazy, incoherent thoughts up. I am convinced that the GOP is out to alienate every non-white, non-male, non-Christian on the planet. They’re after the ultimate all-white-straight-male-American-Christian race.

    Translation:

SEN GRAHAM: Ms. Lynch we conservatives have a habit of pontificating about things where we do not have all the facts and consequently have no idea of what we are talking about. Would you care to follow our example and discuss the gay marriage litigation in which you have had no part and consequently no opportunity to review the legal questions being raised?

    MS LYNCH: No.

Polygamy is supported in the bible, several of its heroes have several to many wives.

It is a legitimate question due to the fact that once something gets redefined or expanded, why does that group get to do the redefining but other groups can’t.
It is a discussion of where does it stop and why does it stop there.

    • fahvel January 28th, 2015 at 10:35 pm

      why should it stop anywhere?

      • Robert M. Snyder January 28th, 2015 at 10:49 pm

I heard a story last week about a woman who wanted to marry her father. I think it should stop there, at least if they are biologically able to procreate.

      • Spirit of America January 28th, 2015 at 10:55 pm

That is the core of the debate when changing/adding things… should it start and if so should it stop, and why.

    • Larry Schmitt January 29th, 2015 at 7:17 pm

Gays aren’t asking to be allowed to marry multiple people, or animals, or their own children, or inanimate objects, they’re asking to be allowed to marry one person who happens to be the same gender they are. It’s quite simple, and Ms. Lindsey’s question is not pertinent.

      • Spirit of America January 29th, 2015 at 10:33 pm

Exactly my point… gays are asking to change what marriage includes. So are those that are asking to marry several people.
The point is one group is asking for a change that they wish to happen. Why can’t another group do the same? Why do gays get to ask for a change beneficial to them, but another group can’t, meaning why do gays get to draw the line where change occurs, but not others?
That is the danger of redrawing lines… who gets to set the new line, and why that group(what ever the topic)?

Graham has a very good point.

Why would marriage equality be any less a constitutional right for polygamists than it is for homosexuals?

Don’t we all live under the same constitution? Don’t we all have the same constitutional rights?

How can marriage equality be a constitutional right for one group but not another????

Alan is completely wrong on this one.

    • rg9rts January 29th, 2015 at 6:17 am

The difference is that Gay Marriage is LEGAL in many states.. …polygamy is not anywhere. in the US

      • ConservativeSmasher January 29th, 2015 at 7:04 pm

How does that address the issue? Gay marriage wasn’t legal in anywhere in the U.S. not too long ago either.

        • rg9rts January 30th, 2015 at 12:56 am

And in Virginia its against the law to have sex unless you are married ….to each other…so much for nit picking…You are a conazi …what is your interest in what goes on between peoples legs…Have your vaginal probe key fob too??

  10. labman57 January 28th, 2015 at 9:14 pm

So many important issues to discuss … and Graham’s main obsession is to persecute “the gays”.

  11. fahvel January 28th, 2015 at 10:34 pm

he should worry more about the brothers and sisters that marry in his state of confusion, er, s.carolina.

  12. granpa.usthai January 29th, 2015 at 1:01 am

is it ‘legal’ for married ‘public servants’ to go tail hiking @ taxpayer expense?

  13. rg9rts January 29th, 2015 at 5:55 am

I’d have more respect for him if he came out…strange he doesn’t know the difference

  14. Larry Schmitt January 29th, 2015 at 7:15 pm

If you listen closely (I know it’s hard, but I backed it up to make sure) he says “a band on same sex marriage…” How can you take seriously a man who can’t even speak English, can’t pronounce a simple 3-letter word correctly?
