It would appear to be a custom version of the venerable 1911 colt 45 semi auto. (I could be wrong, It’s hard to tell) The magazine is not in, but let’s all hope there isn’t one in the chamber. I understand this brave soldier had/has some issues. I hope that what ever motivates him to keep an unsecured weapon near a child is treated by the most competent medical resources available to our veterans.

Yes–he suffers fro PTSD, has attempted suicide, and has not gotten help for either. He drinks and fondles guns and is around small children. You don’t have to be a psychic to see where that story is headed. Oh–and they will probably live in Kentucky.

A small point, not in defense of the guy…but if ya look close, there is no magazine in the pistol…Not knowing if there is a round in the chamber, is a problem tho…The panic, and the hysterics surrounding gun safety, and the NRA is getting to a point where we either have to Kill the NRA, and do something about the crazy folk who kill with their legal weapons…Yes, we need to do something about all the gun deaths, and the gun propaganda, and the stupidity of the open carry folks, etc…there is a middle ground…It’s just there are way too many on both sides who don’t want to see it…and I blame the NRA the most for the lies and misinformation, and the blind support of the puppets in congress…
