Likely got caught shoplifting by the Loss Prevention Officer who was injured and what followed was responsible gun ownership. I’m certain they considered themselves “good guys with a gun”.

Makes sense followed thieves into the bathroom and things exploded. The thing I find odd is that every single responding officer got injured. That sounds like meth rage or a Bundy/Fred Phelps hootenanny. lol
