[su_right_ad]The Pennsylvania teacher has been arrested after telling the student she wanted to run away with her.

Geraldine Alcorn, 28, resigned from Beechwood Elementary School on March 2, after school officials “were made aware of concerns that a teacher had developed an improper attachment” with a student, WPXI reports.

Alcorn allegedly sent the young girl more than 2,400 text messages, where she expressed a “deep love” for the student and talked about adopting her and running away.

School officials became aware of the inappropriate relationship in February. The child’s mother had found numerous messages from Alcorn on her daughter’s iPod. She also found handwritten letters entitled: “Things Ms. Alcorn and I can do,” “What we can do,” and “When we can do it.”

It was later discovered that Alcorn went as far as to visiting the child’s home without permission from the mother. Neighbors told WPXI that they would see Alcorn on the child’s front porch, but assumed she was the girl’s aunt or relative.

Alcorn, who taught many of the child’s classes, is also accused of bringing the student to her own home in Bloomfield, according to Pittsburgh police.

Even after her resignation, the obsessed teacher continued reaching out to the student. A criminal complaint stated that Alcorn put gifts and letters in the girl’s locker. She also encrypted her phone number on the girl’s math worksheet.

My appointment is on the 6th but yesterday I was talking with a friend who’s survived kidney cancer and she told me that she developed shaky hands (at times) and voice also. She still has those problems on occasion now but has adjusted, she said that it was the side effects of the chemo and that I just should calm down and make the mental adjustment.

I lurk from time to time and when I’m calmer and can type more easily I’ll be back. I felt better after talking to my friend yesterday and am still feeling alright this morning about this, I just take a deep breath and exhale slowly ’cause I do need to get myself together about this. ;o)

One text message is too many.

I work in the schools and I don’t “friend” any of my students or read any of their Facebook pages. I’ve never sent even one text message to them. I wouldn’t rule-out using texts for homework reminders and such — but absolutely nothing personal.

If your child is getting any personal texts/emails/letters from adults, intervene immediately.

WTF is wrong with people?!?! This woman should be put away, where she’ll never have access to children, for the rest of her life. She has proven herself to be a danger to others.

Was it sexual in nature or was it deprived mommy syndrome?

This doesn’t really say, it did say she wanted to adopt her. Maybe she saw Matilda one time too many, maybe she found out that she couldn’t have kids, maybe she thought the child was being abused.

If that was the case, it was sad, still creepy but sad but if she had other designs that was beyond creepy!

    Psychotic….

I hope that there is something can be done to make this girl safe from the teacher. Firing is the first step, but does not solve the problem. The teacher needs more intervention than that. It would seem that an expressed desire to adopt her and run away is enough of a threat to others that she could be made to undergo a psych eval even if she wouldn’t agree to it.

this young woman clearly has some serious, and potentially dangerous, psychological isses going on in her brain, and is desperately in need of professional, medical help. first thing is to ensure the safety of the child, which I seriously doubt a court order is going to do, just ask any deceased stalking victim about that.
