Nevada Republican: Pimps Should Be Castrated

Nevada State Rep. Michele Fiore, who declared racism over before referring to a colleague as “colored,” wants pimps to lose vital organs.
She proposed the penalty during discussion of a bill intended to help women escape the sex trade by requiring truck stops, fast-food restaurants, and other establishments to post a toll-free number where they can seek assistance.
“Instead of warm and fuzzy stickers and extended jail sentences why aren’t you serious about the sex offenders these pimps, come with the castration bill, come with a bill that will stop people in their tracks,” Fiore said. “You know it, like you want to get serious about stopping sex trafficking, so let’s get a serious bill before us.”
The lawmaker left soon after making her remarks but defended her proposal Monday during a TV panel.
“If you really want to get serious about stopping the pimps and stopping this horrific activity with sex trafficking our children, come to us, the legislators, with a bill for chemical castration or straight-up castration,” Fiore said.

As long as the prostitute is of legal age and she’s not being forced to turn tricks, there shouldn’t be any prosecution. If she chooses to charge a fee for her “services”, that should be no one’s concern, but hers. Pimps don’t give a girl/woman any choice in the matter. They use force and intimidation, to turn a girl or woman into a prostitute. The pimps are the ones who apply violence, in order to secure compliance. The pimps are the ones who take the earnings of the prostitutes and leave them with little or nothing. The pimps are the ones who make victims of girls and women.

In places where prostitution is legal, if a prostitute refuses to provide services to people of one particular sex, would that qualify as illegal discrimination?

Hmm, if it does not prohibit the death penalty and does not prohibit physical mutilation, can someone tell me exactly what the 8th amendment does prevent? Did it get repealed and nobody told us?

It’s disappointing to see an elected official who does not understand such foundational aspects of our Constitution or our people.
Not long ago I was reading about a guy here in Virginia back in the 1600s who went down to the courthouse and insisted upon having an entry made in the public record. It went something like: “___ ___ wishes for it to be broadcast in the record that last weekend he was involved in a brawl in the town square in which part of his ear was cut off.”
The reason for this was having part of all of one’s ear cut off branded the person as a criminal and he wanted it on the public record that he had lost his ear by means other than a criminal conviction.
The practice was (and I have seen court orders commanding it to be done) was a thief, say, upon conviction would be taken to the pillory on the town square where the sheriff would nail his ear to the post and leave him there for a period of time to suffer ridicule. Then the sheriff would come back and cut off his ear to free him from the post.
I am fortunate to have access to a large multi-volume set of the journals of the Va. House of Burgesses and it is chock full of all kinds of wacky cases. It’s hard to put down.

I don’t think we should do anything of the sort. Just put them in prison and throw away the key. Anyone who’s convicted of turning out girls should get mandatory life in prison, without the possibility for parole. I’d be all for executing the monsters, but the Supreme Court says “no”.
