“Morning Joe” pointed out there was another cop in the video.

Slager initially said he had shot Scott during an altercation in which Scott had attempted to grab his stun gun. Video later revealed Slager shooting Scott in the back as the latter fled, and then placing what appeared to be his stun gun near Scott’s body — in full view of a second officer, who had arrived at the scene by that point. Neither officer attempted to resuscitate Scott, something confirmed by Feiden Santana, who shot the video.

“The other cop is right there,” co-host Joe Scarborough said. “That cop is two feet away when he dropped the taser next to the dead body. I’m sorry, what cop is okay with that?”

“There should be more charges,” said host Mika Brzezinski, wondering if the second officer was an “accomplice.”

“The question this morning for investigators here is what happened at the crime scene?” Scarborough asked. “What happened with the second cop when he dropped what we believe to be a taser?…What did the other cop say in his initial interview? Did the other cop say a taser was dropped at the body of a dead man who was shot eight times?”

I am sure it is coming. It is time to gather evidence, dropping the hammer will come soon enough.

Accessory after fact sounds good to me.

not unusual for Officers to cover for each other. Part of the ‘undocumented’ training of us against them.

That other cop in the video stood there and seen Slager drop the taser next to the body. He had to write his own report on what happened and HAD to LIE about it too! Of course he should be charged with complicity to murder.

Yes, they’re going to try the “reverse racism” angle.

“Why don’t they arrest the BLACK cop? He was there, too!”

Of course, he didn’t plug the victim in the back with eight bullets,
but we gotta arrest the black guy!

Simply put, when someone who is responsible for our safety does something wrong such as this, they should be held accountable. If it is determined that the second cop lied or omitted the whole taser dropping in his statements/police report, then yes, he should be charged.

The culture in police departments need change. Officers should be held accountable and not empowered to continue with their deceptive behavior.

The 2nd cop needs to be held accountable for lying in his written report.

We can’t answer the question asked in the OP until we get the answers to the questions toward the end of the OP asked by Scarborough.

I’m glad the OP pointed out that neither bothered to administer first aid. When I was trained in first aid, we were taught to do all we could until the rescue squad arrived. If the person’s head was chopped off, that was something else, of course. This standard seems to have been eroded as I have noticed other cases where even rescue squad personnel determined when first aid should be stopped and that someone had died, rather than doing all they could till they got the patient to the hospital.

If the second officer lied on his official report, that’s falsifying an official document, purjury (a signature on any official police report is considered to place the signator “under oath”) official misconduct, accessory after the fact, obstruction of justice, evidence tampering, abuse of official power and aiding and abetting a felon, in the commission of his crime.
All very serious charges and most of them felonies. He should be very worried, today.

Fire that officer also then charge him with failure to do the job he has sworn to do. He should face jail time for an apparent attempt to cover up the murder…

Unless the 2nd cop is responsible for the 1st cop being arrested…do we know for sure this 2nd cop lied or falsified anything in his report or if he might have told about the stun gun thing before anyone saw the video…

i don’t think that the 2nd cop said anything that would get the murderer arrested. it was only after the videotographer showed the video to the family that the truth came out. the police was going on what the “officers” told them.

geraldo, the fk face, is defending the cop and blaming the victim by saying that he made this “cop” blood boil and that he should be charged for murder but manslaughter and get a slap on the wrist.
