Robertson: Conservative Christians Must Be ‘In Charge Of This Planet’
[su_publirb]
Pat Robertson believes conservative Christians must “exercise dominion” over the world.
“God has made us in charge of this planet and He’s given us dominion and we’re supposed to exercise dominion,” Robertson said. “When the Christians exercise dominion, good things happen. When we surrender dominion, bad things happen. It’s happening in our country, we’ve got a president that thinks we should surrender dominion, that we should not be involved, that we should lead from behind and all of this stuff, and the world is just going to chaos all around.”
Conservative Christians, Robertson said, must fill Obama’s leadership vacuum: “All around you see these horrible breakouts. Why? Because the leaders aren’t leading. So, we have to lead. God has given us dominion, we have to do that.”

Funny thing is…even if that were true, nobody thinks Pat Robertson would know a Christian if he fell over them.
EnuffBull May 12th, 2015 at 4:15 pm
Great, Pat, then check out what the POPE has to say about war mongering dominionists…
Khary A May 12th, 2015 at 4:34 pm
And so the call for another Crusade bellows from the superstitious relics of the far removed religious right. So tell me Marion who is to offer their heads to ensure this dominion? How about
Timothy or Gordon maybe your precious Elizabeth? Just let us know when your children or grandchildren will place themselves on the unforgiving anvil of war and then we can talk about the most holy empire you envision.
Carla Akins May 12th, 2015 at 4:35 pm
Oh Pat, you’re such a goof.
FatRat May 12th, 2015 at 4:44 pm
I haven’t heard Dominion said that many times since Star Trek. I half expect Pat to jump onto a lead sled and start repeatedly chanting “Veni, vidi, vici!”

Kick Frenzy May 12th, 2015 at 4:51 pm
No, Pat, God didn’t give Christians dominion over the planet.
He gave mankind dominion over the planet and everything on it, but that was mostly to impress upon humans their responsibility to take care of the planet and everything on it.
There was no such thing as a Christian until hundreds of years after he gave mankind dominion.
Dammitjim May 12th, 2015 at 5:00 pm
Aww HELL naw. Go away ya old coot.

William May 12th, 2015 at 5:17 pm
“God has made us in charge of this planet and He’s given us dominion and we’re supposed to exercise dominion,”
Well from what I can see we are just exercising the living sh!t out of the planet. (dominion-wise that is).

I have three rolls of duct tape, I think that should be enough to cover that mouth for awhile.
jybarz May 12th, 2015 at 9:28 pm
Don’t forget the nose especially.
Suzanne McFly May 12th, 2015 at 6:45 pm
It has to be exhausting for the followers to keep defending these old kooks.
Jeffrey Samuels May 13th, 2015 at 9:47 am
unfortunately there are a lot of them that actually believe that if they were in charge, the American people would be happier and well behaved; sort of like how prisoners are ‘happy’ and well behaved behind bars.
Suzanne McFly May 13th, 2015 at 11:18 am
I don’t think they are concerned with our happiness, they just want us to be content as they line their pockets with our money.
Warman1138 May 12th, 2015 at 7:41 pm
It’s a Geritol moment.
alpacadaddy May 12th, 2015 at 8:54 pm
Pat’s way past Geritol and in desperate need of a Crusades-style lobotomy to refresh his shriveled, senile, hateful self!
dave-dr-gonzo May 12th, 2015 at 7:44 pm
No, Pat. Rational citizens of this world will never let superstitious, fascistic dominionists run this planet. But you do have our permission to take over Kolob. http://www.top10craziestmormonbeliefs.com/a/93

Well, that leaves the pope out.

Guy Lauten May 13th, 2015 at 9:58 am
Oh the list is long…
I’m sure the Aztecs would take exception to their genocide being portrayed as a “good thing”. Probably every Pacific Island and Rim country had the pleasure of the Jesuits invading them, castigating them into the role of second-class citizens, and forcing their centuries-old culture into the underground; now there’s a “christian good thing”, huh? Oh, and don’t forget the measles! Such a good gift for the good “christian” priests to leave behind.
And then there’s Africa, which up to very recently was still under the “dominion” of good, “christian” white men, with the “church” bolstering up their version of apartheid (“Gotta keep them darkies down, ya know!”).
Ahhhhhh yes…. these are but a few of the wonderful things that have happened under “christian dominion”. What else can they do for (to) us today?
Chris May 12th, 2015 at 10:46 pm
Thus the eternal confusion on the Right.
Obama is either abdicating leadership, or he is leading us to destruction. And the cons can keep both of these conflicting ideas in their minds without blowing up. Interesting.
granpa.usthai May 13th, 2015 at 12:06 am
actually it’s very easy. put a ring in your nose, tie a string to it, then lower the hood of a long pointed conehead hat.
then tag along with the crowd.

just as a matter of point:
their fake phony Italian Jesus.
the REAL Jesus (Jewish Religion) made sure everybody had something to eat and was all for people LEARNING about TRUTH.
Looked upon the religious people with ANGER.
whatthe46 May 13th, 2015 at 12:35 am
sounds like pat and long neck have been talking lately. that crazy bitch said we should invade other countries and if they don’t convert, then kill ’em. damn fools, the whole lot of them.
liberalMD May 13th, 2015 at 1:31 am
“All around you see these horrible breakouts. Why? Because the leaders aren’t leading. So, we have to lead…..”
So Pat, remind me what happened when Ivan the Terrible, Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Idi Amin led their countries. They were all leaders who led.
Terry Lee Osborne May 13th, 2015 at 5:46 am
9/11 happened when right wing Christians and most conservatives, controlled the US government. 9/11 was a bad thing. But back then it was the it was the gay’s fault right.
eaglesfanintn May 13th, 2015 at 11:29 am
In the words of Austin Powers – “Why won’t you die?”
Rebecca Glesener Davis May 13th, 2015 at 12:07 pm
“Lead from behind, Pat!” Eerrrgh.
illinoisboy1977 May 13th, 2015 at 2:41 pm
Pat Robertson is the last person in the world, who needs to be talking about “being in charge” of anything. That asshole blamed the U.S. for 9/11, using the most vitriolic and asinine of rationales. I have NO respect for him.
whatthe46 May 13th, 2015 at 2:49 pm
” I have NO respect for him.” and you did before that?
illinoisboy1977 May 13th, 2015 at 3:04 pm
Actually, no. Anyone who raises his hands in the air and spins stories about how a man with brain cancer is being healed, “right now”, in order to solicit funds, is a sham and a con-man.
rg9rts May 15th, 2015 at 4:59 am
Just following in the old time tent revival tradition of fleecing the rubes…this time without even giving them snake oil
Jeffrey Samuels May 13th, 2015 at 3:40 pm
the idea that Christians think they have some sort of mandate to rule is one of the most frightening things to hear. They have historically had a terrible track record in dealing with everything from indigenous populations to burning people alive for heresy or witchcraft, torturing people for non belief, converting at sword point, censoring scientific research, even keeping folks illiterate to prevent them from questioning interpretations of their bible as expounded by priests.
The entire dominion thing makes me shudder.
Jeeler May 14th, 2015 at 9:38 pm
Christians comprise < 33 of the planet's population. Sorry, old bigot, the entire world is not yours, despite your entrenched belief that White, GOP, NRA, Capitalist, Muricun Jesus is actually in control of everything. And that's a damn good thing.
allison1050 May 14th, 2015 at 10:05 pm
They tend to believe that they have a one way ticket to god. ;o/

rg9rts May 15th, 2015 at 4:56 am
Maybe someone should tell dimbulb that christians are a minority on the planet….
Elliot J. Stamler May 19th, 2015 at 10:09 pm
He finally let it out–he is a dominionist. Anyone who does not fully know what Christian Dominionism is should google it. It is dictatorship by insane people who are both political fascists and religious maniacs. Glad Pat finally came clean.
