Ben Carson was asked what he’d do now if he were in office and Hurricane Joaquin hit, and the answer wasn’t promising.

As the east coast braces for what could be a significant storm from North Carolina to New Jersey, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson was asked what he would do about Hurricane Joaquin if he were in the Oval Office.

Carson’s response was terse: “I don’t know.”

Virginia and New Jersey have already declared states of emergency in response to the impending hurricane, which has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm, according to the U.S. Hurricane Center.
