The Minnesota House candidate deleted his Tweet and his campaign.
“ISIS isn’t necessarily evil,” Dan Kimmel, a Democratic candidate from Burnsville, wrote in a now-deleted tweet, after terrorists likely linked to ISIS killed more than 130 people in the French capital.
“It is made up of people doing what they think is best for their community. Violence is not the answer, though.”
Kimmel, 63, immediately tried backtracking on his wishy-washy rationale, telling furious social media users they misunderstood him…

In the same message, Kimmel called it quits for his campaign.
“I am folding up my campaign tent.”
“I deplore the evil acts of ISIS. I do not defend their acts,” he wrote.
On his website, he said the tweet “was in response to a statement made during the candidate debates, not in response to the activities in Paris.”
