It’s being referred to as a “credible threat.”

The district, comprising 1,087 schools, was ordered closed for Tuesday after a bomb threat was reported to a board member, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Details about the threat were not immediately known, but students and staff have been told to stay away from schools.

Children who already are at school are being sent home due to the threat, which was described as “credible.” It is unclear whether the bomb threat was made against any school in particular.
