Washington Post‘s Philip Bump noted that contemporaneous reporting indicated Trump certainly visiting Ground Zero after the attacks. New York Newsday wrote that the businessman appeared on the site two days afterward with “every hair in place and impeccably dressed in a black suit, pressed white shirt and red tie, walking into the plaza with his cellular phone to his ear.”
