Henry County police shot a 63-year-old-man after going to the wrong house.

Upon arriving at the scene, police were met by homeowner William Powell. Dutton said Powell was armed with a handgun, which he refused to put down. An officer fired at Powell, striking him in the neck.

Powell was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.

The officer who shot Powell was placed on paid administrative leave, Henry police Capt. Joey Smith said.
