Jared Kushner, married to Ivanka Trump, has infuriated his family by using his grandparents, who are Holocaust survivors, to defend Donald Trump’s display of anti-Semitism.

Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s husband and the Republican nominee’s campaign adviser, came under fire from his own cousins after he penned an op-ed in which he related the tale of his family’s survival in the Holocaust to show that he knows what he’s talking about when declaring that Trump isn’t a racist.
In a bid to defend the Republican presidential candidate following the storm surrounding the tweet featuring rival Hillary Clinton, a Star of David and a pile of money, Kushner noted that the issue of racism “is not idle philosophy to me. I am the grandson of Holocaust survivors.”

He then went on to describe how his grandmother escaped the ghetto of Novogroduk and made it to the woods, where she joined the partisan Bielski Brigade and met his grandfather, who escaped a labor camp.

“I go into these details, which I have never discussed, because it’s important to me that people understand where I’m coming from when I report that I know the difference between actual, dangerous intolerance versus these labels that get tossed around in an effort to score political points,” he wrote…

His cousin, Marc Kushner, wrote on Facebook that “I have a different take-away from my Grandparents’ experience in the war. It is our responsibility as the next generation to speak up against hate. Anti-semitism or otherwise.”

Another cousin, Jacob Schulder, commented on Marc Kushner’s post. Politico quoted him as saying that “When an out of touch with reality nominee hires an out of touch with reality campaign manager, who is also a son-in-law, you get the BS Jared wrote. I don’t think Trump is an antiSemite; I think he’s a lying idiot (among other things)…

“That my grandparents have been dragged into this is a shame. Thank you Jared for using something sacred and special to the descendants of Joe and Rae Kushner to validate the sloppy manner in which you’ve handled this campaign,” he wrote.
