Huma Abedin announces split from Anthony Weiner
Huma Abedin says she will divorce Anthony Weiner.
The announcement comes in the wake of the latest allegations of the former congressman sending lewd messages to a woman online.
“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy,” Abedin said in a statement released today.

Abedin, who is one of Hillary Clinton’s top aides, married Weiner in 2010 when he was a Democratic congressman representing a district in Queens, New York. Former President Bill Clinton officiated their wedding.
In May 2011, the first explicit photo of Weiner was released after he inadvertently posted it on his Twitter account, and he resigned from Congress the following month. At the time, Abedin was pregnant with the couple’s first child.
