“He’s got a group of trusted folks around him, and he’s studying, and he’s preparing, and they’re going through hypotheticals,” Priebus said on CNN’s “Wolf,” adding that Trump is “very comfortable” and “did a great job” in the GOP primary debates.

“He’s also been through, what, 14 seasons? Season finales. I mean, he will be prepared,” Priebus added. “He’s always showed up for the big dance, and he will be prepared, and he will be ready to go tonight.”

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s spokesman, Brian Fallon, appeared on the program after the RNC chief and seized on the remark to argue that Trump is relying on his television experience to carry him through the presidential debate.

“You asked him about Donald Trump’s qualifications and his approach tonight and he stressed that he’s had 14 series finales of ‘The Apprentice.’ I think they really are hoping to coast on style and his television showmanship,” Fallon said.
