Trump to stop using ‘drain the swamp’ slogan
That’s because he’s filling it, not draining it.
Donald Trump, who said the slogan frequently on the campaign trail as a way of describing his promise to rid Washington D.C of special interests, will move away from using the phrase, Newt Gingrich, who advises the President-elect, said Wednesday.
“I’m told he now just disclaims that,” Gingrich said on NPR’s “Morning Edition.” “He now says it was cute, but he doesn’t want to use it anymore.”

“Maybe he feels that as the next President of the United States, that he should be marginally more dignified than talking about alligators in swamps,” Gingrich said.
