There’s an old saying in the Beltway: “A rumor is more often than not another term for a premature fact.

Two days after his appointment as communications director was announced, [Donald Trump’s newly tapped White House communications director, Jason Miller] told POLITICO on Christmas Eve that he was stepping down because the White House job would be too demanding at a time when he needed to devote attention to his family. He and his wife are expecting their second child next month.

“Devote attention to his family” is press release code for “clean up the crapnado because the resignee has been a very bad boy“:

AJ Delgado, a senior advisor in Trump’s transition team, posted several [Twitter] tweets hinting that Miller was at the center of a sex scandal.

Shortly after the tweets went live, Delgado attempted to delete her Twitter account – but not before several attentive Tweeps captured the above screenshots.

Sources in the Trump campaign confirmed the obvious:

After POLITICO reporters received an anonymous email about the alleged affair, Delgado disclosed details of the relationship to senior officials in emails Thursday, the people close to the transition said. The nature of their relationship had been known to people involved in the Trump campaign and transition for “a number of months,” one source said.

That should go over well with the moralist scold Bible-thumpers.

But wait! There’s more!

In October, the New York Post’s Page Six reported that Delgado and Miller, along with members of the media, had been spotted at a Las Vegas strip club the night before the campaign’s final debate. The New York Times reported last month that Miller offered to resign after that incident, but the offer was rejected.

Gee – one has to wonder how many in the press might have been aware that Miller and Delgado were an item! Better not rock that Trump boat – you might lose access if you expose behavior that runs against the morals of a major faction of Trump’s supporters!
