What we know about the shooting
- The shooting suspect had a military ID, with the name Esteban Santiago on it, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson told ABC News. It’s unknown if the ID is legitimate and the suspect’s.
- The shooter reportedly flew into the airport from outside Florida, potentially Alaska or Canada, with a gun in his checked-in luggage. He then went to a bathroom and loaded the gun before opening fire, a Broward County commissioner told ABC News.
