Marla Maples wanted a stylist to prepare her for the inauguration in return for free social media.

A hair stylist said that she received a vaguely threatening email from a PR contact after she refused to style Donald Trump’s ex-wife and their daughter in exchange for “exposure,” The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Freelance stylist Tricia Kelly told the Post that she was contacted by a longtime client with ties to the Trumps about the possibility of styling Marla Maples and Tiffany Trump for the inauguration. After a short back and forth about rates, Maples’ assistant reportedly asked Kelly if she would do their hair for free in exchange for “exposure” on Maples’ social media accounts.

Kelly told the Post that she declined not only over the lack of payment but also due to a personal policy of not associating herself publicly with people in politics…

“You are messing with the president of the United States,” the contact wrote her, according to the Post. “She is used to a certain lifestyle and you don’t understand that.”
