Uh-oh!

Hope Hicks, the White House communications director and one of President Trump’s longest-serving advisers, said Wednesday that she was resigning.

Ms. Hicks, 29, a former model who joined Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign without any experience in politics, became known as one of the few aides who understood his personality and style and could challenge the president to change his views.

Ms. Hicks had been considering leaving for several months.

NBC confirmed the Times scoop at 4:30, and both celebrity real estate mogul Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly issued gushing statements about Hicks.

The development comes the day after

During closed-door testimony that stretched roughly nine hours Tuesday, White House communications director Hope Hicks was pressed about whether she had ever lied for President Donald Trump — and acknowledged she has had to tell what amounted to white lies, according to a source with direct knowledge of her testimony.

… meaning, in her role, lying to the press.

It is worth mentioning that Hicks is thisclose to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. It is also noteworthy that Hicks was romantically linked to well-known alleged wife batterer Rob Porter, and had to craft White House communications in the wake of his embarrassing resignation. Also, let;’s not forget that Hicks was with former Trump advisor Mark Corallo during the infamous “Air Force One” meeting in which they had to cook up a statement regarding the revelation that Don Jr., Paul Manafort, and other Trump campaign officials met with Russian agents at Trump Tower in June 2016. It did not, to say the least, rise to the level of a “white lie.”

This raises teh question: we know that Hicks has talked to Mueller and afterward “stonewalled” the House Intelligence Committee, citing orders from her boss.

Is it possible Hicks has sold out Uncle Dotard? We would not be surprised.
