Shocker of a new revelation in Pensacola navy base shooting raises disturbing questions
I wonder what Jared Kushner’s BFF, Prince Muhammad bin Bone Saw… er, Salman, has to say about this development. The newspaper of record reports:
A member of the Saudi Air Force training to be a pilot killed three people at Naval Air Station Pensacola before he was shot dead by officers responding to the scene, the authorities said.
Six other Saudi nationals were detained for questioning near the scene of the shooting, including three who were seen filming the entire incident, according to a person briefed on the initial stages of the investigation.
It was not known whether the six Saudis detained were students in the classroom building, and there was no immediate indication that those filming the incident were connected to the gunman, the person said.
By way of reminder, guns for non=law-enforcement military personnel are supposedly NOT allowed on base without extensive permissions. How did a foreign national slip through the cracks?
I know, I know, the House of Saud is the House of Trump’s extra-special buddy-buddy regime, but perhaps their military-tied nationals need a little bit more scrutiny before they are allowed in Trumpistan. CNN reports:
The Defense Department will review measures for screening foreign students after a deadly shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida on Friday.
The gunman was a second lieutenant in the Saudi Arabian military involved in flight training at the station, US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said Friday. Three people were killed in the shooting and eight others were injured and taken to a hospital, authorities said. … “I also talked about our team looking at the measures we have in place to ensure proper vetting and screening of foreign students as they come to our country to make sure we understand we have a good handle on who they are and that they’ve been properly screened,” Esper said Friday night.
Shorter Esper: “We screwed the pooch.”
Did the Pentagon even bother to follow through on changes after this notorious mass shooting?
And see here, and here. For crikey sakes, why does anyone with a sane mind think Saudi Arabia is a trustworthy ally?
