Man Arrested For Overdue Library Book
Copperas Grove, Texas is cracking down on those who don’t return materials to the library. They passed a city ordinance to deal with delinquent book borrowers.
“The reason they passed it was that they were spending a tremendous amount of money replacing these materials that people just didn’t return,” said Bill Price, the city’s municipal judge. Jory Enck is the latest library patron to have the book thrown at him. Police arrested him last week on a three-year-old warrant for not returning library materials. The book in question is a G.E.D. study guide, according to court documents. He was released on a $200 bond and returned the study guide to the city library.
