McDonald’s Advises Poor Employees How To Eat Less, Feel ‘Full’
The union-backed group “Low Pay Is Not Okay” mocks a video put out by McDonald’s intended to “help” its low-wage workers survive. It appears on the company’s McResources website. One tip is to take two vacations a year. They don’t tell you how to pay for those two vacations, or how to coordinate it with the six other jobs an worker is likely to have. And how do you eat less yes feel full? You break the food up into little pieces. Brilliance!
McDonald’s had previously come under fire for telling workers to apply for food stamps while being employed by a fast-food corporation raking in billions annually. Many McDonald’s workers make minimum wage. The federal minimum wage rate is $7.25 an hour.
