Connecticut Caller Tells 911 His Roommate Headed For Yale To Shoot People
Yale’s old campus was put on lockdown following this call.
The man made the call from a pay phone on the low-300 block of Columbus Avenue around 9:30 a.m. to report that his roommate was headed to the central campus area in order to shoot up the area, Hartman said. The caller said his roommate had a long gun, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman. The caller did not identify himself as a Yale student. He stayed on the phone only a few seconds.
“Several” witnesses told police they saw someone with a rifle or other long gun on the loose, Hartman said.
Police are looking for the alleged gunman on Yale’s Old Campus; the university advised people to stay indoors.
