NH Republican Mocks Domestic Violence Victims
State Rep. Kyle Tasker showed two figures engaging in oral sex on his Facebook page with the caption, “50,000 battered women and I still eat my plain.” Not only is that offensive , it’s not even good English.
The lawmaker posted the image during a discussion on comments made last year by another New Hampshire Republican, Rep. Mark Warden, who suggested that “a lot of people like being in an abusive relationship” during a House panel hearing on domestic violence legislation.
Tasker praised his colleague, saying, “Warden is so principled it offends people,” and then posted the image.
Responding to the charge that his post is inappropriate he thought he was being clever by saying, “I ran it by the [domestic violence] lobbyist [and] she laughed. Now if we went around wearing the T-shirt that wouldn’t go over well.”
