Mackelmore denies he was applying a Jewish stereotype when he and Ryan Lewis performed in Seattle. Mackelmore donned a look for the song “Thrift Shop” that was offensive to many onlookers.

For a surprise set celebrating a new exhibit at Seattle’s Experience Music Project Museum on Friday night, he opted to perform dressed as some kind of Jewish caricature, prosthetic schnozz included.

Mackelmore says he’s being misunderstood.

I had to Google him to see who he was. His excuse is pathetic. A racist is a racist. Goodbye Mackelmore.
