Texas Republican Congressman Trent Franks must have had a difficult time coming up with something difficult to say about President Obama, so he had to reach for this one.

Rep. Trent Franks stopped by the Family Research Council’s “Washington Watch” yesterday to discuss the plight of a Sudanese woman who is facing a death sentence for converting to Christianity.

The Arizona Republican of course managed to blame President Obama for the situation, telling FRC president Tony Perkins that the administration isn’t helping the woman, who is married to a U.S. citizen.

“I wonder if this administration would worry if Al Qaeda took Texas,” he said. “He might say it’s none of our business. It’s just really starting to be something that frightens me terribly and I think it is indicative of why this administration has been so soft on trying to protect religious freedom here.”

Oh fer pity’s sake! Is this really what they are concerned about? Where are all these “impeachable offenses” they were blathering about a few months ago?

The Republican demonization of President Obama is going to rev into high gear; the Republicans intend to create multiple layer of lies and scandals, with large dosages of misinformation, distortion, and exaggeration. Their two year plan is generate enough hate and mojo to attempt to impeach him. Demonizing President Obama with lies hasn’t worked the past nearly 6 years and it won’t sell when they make their move. Like the Republican Tea Party S&P downgrade, the Republican Sequester of 2013, the Republican shutting down of the American government by a Republican Canadian citizen, and the Republican self inflicted wound of dismissing Immigration Reform—– the attempt at impeachment will come back to haunt the Republicans and in no uncertain terms— their lies will catch up to them.

With repeal of the ACA dead, and Republicans stepping on each other’s toes in the subpoenae-of-the week competition (Benghazi division), I suppose making up bullsh*t out of thin air is their only remaining option.

PS 2 US Attorney General, use a secure line from now on when contacting what’s left of OBL’s group.
