Gun Manufacturer Has Tips On Where To Hide Your Gun In Your Home
Sadly, none of these suggestions is something called a “safe.”
Working with Guns.com, Beretta suggests hiding a gun in cereal boxes, laundry hampers, sofas and old record albums.
“Be it from prying eyes, fingers or leaders, hiding your weapons is an integral part of safely owning firearms,” states the guide on Guns.com, which was also posted on Beretta’s Facebook page.
The article says that if gun owners have kids then “the top shelf of Dad’s closet of mystery may not your best option (but then again, depending on your brood, it might). Also realize that education is the only real long term solution to keeping your children safe around guns.”
Here’s another way to keep your children safe: don’t have a gun hidden somewhere around the house.

I like Alan’s suggestion, especially if you have children in the house.
I do have guns in my house but alas, all the children are gone. When some kids do come to visit the guns are locked away, unloaded.

I particularly like the idea of hiding a gun in a cereal box. What kid ever ate cereal right? And if you need it to ‘defend yourself against intruders’, what better than telling them “Hey! I bet you guys are hungry, what with all that breaking in and all… I bet a big bowl of Cheerios would go down well right now! Anyone? …You with the gun? ..” LMAO!

I don’t have a gun, but if I remember right, they are not flat and thin and made to hide in old record albums, which I DO have. I guess I could hide it in my laundry hamper, only that might be inconvenient when I’m dumping clothes into the washer, don’t need any more drain holes in the old Maytag. I’m guessing an 800lb. safe would be the best place, locked and impenetrable. My son owns guns (no kids) and that’s what HE uses.
That cereal box idea was a real knee-slapper. “Ma, there’s prowlers in the yard, bring me my Count Chocula!”

Like your Count Chokula comment. But seriously, if you have kids, there is no place to hide a gun that they won’t find eventually. You’re correct, a gun safe is an obvious place to keep them. Unfortunately that won’t do anyone much good in a home invasion. BTW, remember this?

I hope to hell I’m NEVER so paranoid I feel like hiding guns all over the damn house. If I do feel that way, I’m immediately having myself committed.
