David Letterman was talking to Anderson Cooper about guns.

Letterman told Cooper that he thought Newtown would be the “landmark, changing, touchstone point in this country” on how to improve the situation. “But now we’ve just become inured to this. People are shot and killed each and every day by private handgun ownership. Surely, you can’t tell me this is an insoluble problem,” he said.

Cooper called the gun issue a problem that America “isn’t ready” or “isn’t willing” to tackle. Cooper agreed that the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 was an event that many felt would chance things. “If that didn’t make it happen, I don’t know what will,” he said.

“Nothing will move until everyone knows or has a family member that has been gunned down,” Letterman lamented. He said he’s not “anti-gun,” but wanted to know, “for the love of Christ, when are we going to do something about this nonsense?”

When we change the laws regarding campaign finance. If you get enough sigs, you get on the ballot. If you make it through the primary, you get a set amount for advertising. I know that doesn’t cover all the basics, but it’s a start.

If you read your republican bible, you’ll note God advocates the use of firearms. For example, when He said, “thou shalt not kill”, He CLEARLY meant, :”unless you’re sporting a fully loaded, military style assault rifle.
