Conservative Blogger Sends Tea Party Trolls To Crash Sen. Thad Cochran’s Media Call
You may have thought the clown show in Mississippi was over; after all, Sen. Thad Cochran defeated his challenger, the Tea Party Confederate-friendly fun-guy, Rep. Chris McDaniel. Well, you’d be wrong. It was the nastiest, most underhanded election and it’s still chaotic. It’s like it just won’t die even though the election is over.
Thad Cochran’s conference call today really went off the crazy cliff. The culprit/troll appears to be Conservative blogger and contributor for The Daily Caller, Charles Johnson, who sent out a tweet which included details about the call, while telling others to crash/hijack Cochran’s conference call.
One caller then asked Cochran why he is “harvesting black votes like black people harvesting cotton.”
This is the very same blogger who alleged that the Cochran campaign bribed black voters in the Mississippi GOP runoff primary election.
Talking Points Memo reports:
During the Wednesday conference call, one caller repeatedly interrupted members of the Cochran team to ask why the Cochran campaign “harvested” votes from “blacks picking cotton.”
After the call was cut short, Johnson denied that he was the caller who kept interrupting with the accusations, but he may have violated Twitters terms of service by trying to get people involved in the call.
After the call, Johnson tweeted the personal cell phone number of a spokesperson for the Cochran campaign.
In short, he denied making the call, then tweeted the personal phone number of a spokesman for Cochran’s campaign, which makes him look dubious.
Press conference details… Crash it with me in fifteen minutes? Call is 3 PM CST Tuesday Call in number: 530-881-1000. PIN: 287517# #mssen

Reporters weighed in.
People on the line now suggesting that it was a Cochran campaign plant who ended the call or “maybe Obama” — Ben Jacobs (@Bencjacobs) July 2, 2014
This #MSSen Cochran press call is totally bizarre.

Who would think the caller is a plant? We’re back to this guy:
@BuzzFeedAndrew @jlrussell31 Yes, I did but I didn’t ask any questions. I bet it was a Cochran plant. #mssen — Charles C. Johnson (@ChuckCJohnson) July 2, 2014
McDaniel and his supporters are the worst losers ever.

Apologies to bulldogs please.
Eric Trommater July 2nd, 2014 at 8:24 pm
I find it odd that I had to read almost halfway throught this article before anyone blamed Obama. Has The Tea Party lost it’s touch?
BanditBasheert July 2nd, 2014 at 9:56 pm
Aren’t they the clever ones? Asking about blacks picking cotton and thinking no one will notice what they did?
Cut them and they bleed filth and sewage.

It’s like he wanted to do a Flock of Seagulls hair style, then changed his mind in the middle of it.
Flspeedy July 2nd, 2014 at 9:08 pm
Or his mom came and snatched her vacuum cleaner back before he could finish.

He stole it from Palin’s garbage?
tiredoftea July 2nd, 2014 at 9:15 pm
It’s a Tea Party requirement that white guy (redundant, I know) bad hair is a mark of seriousness. Used to be bow ties, now it’s bad hair.

“one caller repeatedly interrupted members of the Cochran team to ask why
the Cochran campaign “harvested” votes from “blacks picking cotton.”
And the *new* GOP claims that they want everyone to be able to vote. Regardless of what Cochran did to win, and no matter how the gesta, err, the TeaParty states they are for equal rights, it seems they only want those white trash votes to count. Want they to win, then run on a platform where a majority would vote for you. But we know the RW’ers and the GOP are incapable of this for the obvious reasons. They are still boiling for being played.
BanditBasheert July 2nd, 2014 at 9:55 pm
The GOP always keeping it classy.
tiredoftea July 2nd, 2014 at 9:19 pm
This is truly the rebirth of the Flat Earth theory where these clowns go further right to prove that the rest of them aren’t “right” enough. Which, of course, drives the next one further right. There’s no chance that they’ll ever come back to where they started, or go through “left”. Maybe they’ll fall off the edge and solve the problem by themselves?
SkeeterVT July 3rd, 2014 at 10:11 pm
This is worse than Flat Earth. I can only wonder how long before a Tea Party challenger to a longtime GOP incumbent is exposed as having ties to white-supremacist groups. I never thought I’d be in agreement with Sen. Cochran, but for once,he’s right — Chris McDaniel really IS an extremist.

If these mo don’t get their way they just keep attacking like deadly forms of cancer; destroying the very fabric of our society our . We are going to have to have some really strong chemo to get rid of these goofs.
voice_reason July 3rd, 2014 at 2:45 pm
can’t win playing fair so it’s dirty tricks one more time…such good law abiding folks these tea baggers
SkeeterVT July 3rd, 2014 at 10:08 pm
Sadly, there are still people in Mississippi who think this is 1964 and not 2014.This is the worst kind of race-baiting politics I’ve seen in 50 years. It’s only thr latest in a series of events showing that the far-right, lily-white base of the Tea Party has sunk into a paranoid siege mentality.
